heavy wheels wrapped with any JC concepts tire and that truck is very capable. Do one mod at a time and get your mind blown. I love mine. also run it on 3s with zero issues.
Get what ya pay for. Perfect for a starter rig. That touchy throttle gets old, soon as ya start getting the feel for crawling, though. Its a traction killer.
I must say i bought gen 8 back when i first got in hobby because it was a deal and got laughed a but in 4 years of owning it only broke axel shaft my fualt vine got it and now its my son's and it has 21t holmes torque master and 1080 on 3s and now 2.2 bfg all terrain for trail driven also looks fit well in fender and wagon wheels the kids more trail driver's what ever to get them out side but surprisingly it been no brakes and he's hard on it and it a first gen now iam have had to glue link mount on axel do to wornt out and strip screws other then that been ok i have others and from all manufacturers 10 just crawlers and think iam going to pass over the 10.3 jeep now and retire it to full scale duties i agree there definitely a up coming in quilty and id recommend them now to people on a budget.
Cant wait to see this brushless, ive always said the ridgerock and this would be amazing with the metal gears and low kv (1800/2800kv) sensored motors would be amazing

Is top line toy grade 😂 I have a truck someone gave me looks like a 540 can on each axle , thing is huge , it be cool to build something out of it , the cost of couple upgrades on brand name stuff you could go to town . It has dog bones but they mounted the wheels weird , waste of some tough looking wheels unless you do something with it , I give exo credit no procrastination with him ,
AS much as I'm around redcat (LHS's owner had redcat as his 1st rc dealer. WAS 101% only trains, until he met ME, 5 years ago 😂). Sad I've never noticed the G2 Tamiya plugs!😱🤦♀️🤷♂️🤮

I have 2 and did some changes ... they work well. I'm on a FB group that I have put all the write ups on there.

The startup is so ruff on this esc. Radcat sent me a 2nd esc and radio because we thought something might be wrong. But no, it just jumps on startup.
Mine started after I put a ZEE 5.2 mah lipo in it.
my GF has a ridgerock and i found that i could fit the axles from my gen 7 onto It as well as the transmission from it, thing is a beast now
throw those axles on the ridge rock buggy chassis,
