This is a budget truck. Stay with the budget motor - 1800kv Fusion SE. Definitely get that big battery out of the back and add some brass to the front and it should really wake it up. Great video Joe.
Or the SMD Konnect made by HW cheaper and just as good ..been using one for nigh on two years now in mud ,water ,all sorts of tyres on a very heavy scale rig and not once has it give a hint of trouble ..

Would love to see a comparison to other "competition" level trucks like an scx10 pro after modification. Mods like a fusion, mid mounted battery. And some brass/heavy wheels
I think some Proline tires and Foams with some nice metal beadlock wheels would go a long way on this truck. But the way it handled itself stock out of the box was very impressive.

Promising, very promising (can't believe I'm saying this about a Redcat 🤦🏻♂️)! Needs some tweaking, no doubt, but at this price, lots of room for a few upgrades that will make this a pretty good crawler!

Do you think a dsm kinetic winch kit could be modified to fit in this redcat,or is the motor and spur gear just in the way. also are there any free mods for more flex?great video! always looking forward to the next one!
Not bad. There is some things I'd like to see changed tho. First off that body looks like it was designed by a 3 year old. Next would be I'd want to see a more forward mount battery tray. Great job with the test!
You just have to order the from Redcat & shame on your LHS for not supporting what they sell. But it’s probably much easier for them to cater to Axial & Traxxas as that’s what pays the bills for them usually the well supported established shops tend to stock more brands & parts so maybe find a shop like that.

I'm shocked you haven't gotten the crawl master v3. Great looking truck good starting point for a crawler.

Skid is flat in case someone wants to use it in Class 1.

There's some slots on the sliders to move the included velcro into, so you can run the battery on the slider.

Can those axles be altered to allow for more steering angle?
They're the same as the Gen9, so you can grind down the steering stop on the inner portal box to get a few more degrees.
