Drinking game: take a shot every time the guy on the right says “yeah”. You’ll be hammered less two minutes in

Recently my wife and I were watching one of those Beachfront Bargain Hunt shows or something like that. About 10 minutes in we noticed the couple said, “yeah” A LOT. We rewound the show and counted...169 times in 22 minutes.

Only because Chris is endorsed by Evans, that’s why he switched. But I prefer Remo. Remos are kings

Colour is nice although it also looks like the walls in a 70s bathroom. 😋 But it’s the sound that matters. What type of bearing edges do they have? If they’re cut sharp 45 degrees, then the heads are suitable to dampen the overtones a bit.

Beautiful kit, great playing and huge sound. Love the song too. Overheads were used for the recording of the drums? I can't see. Thanks for the review

I love the SQ1 snare. The only mid-range kit matching snare that I like.

Music in the beginning sounds very similar to Yugoslavian early 70's rock with folk admixtures

My Birch Starclassic, Birch Yamaha Absolutes & pdp Concept Birch are going out the Door.
Would Love to Own a Chris Coleman kit.
I used to go to Late Night "Sheds" at Various churches in Flint & Pontiac & Detroit During the Birth of Gospel Chops and im Sure I crossed paths with Chris During that period.

Andertons can you tell me if there were gates added to the toms? It would be nice to here the toms sustain.

Those toms are sustaining quite a bit considering it is a birch kit with 2-ply Evans EC2's on it. If you used Ambassadors on it, you'd have quite a full sound. I love these drums.

    What's this song?

I read some of the comments prior to commenting. I don't use coated heads, but agree they may have sounded better on this kit. With the birch (has a nice boom) you don't need a head (Evans) to enhance this. I have Bose headphones on & the clarity is great. The toms has a deep exaggerating sustain & unfortunately doesn't sound to great. Overall nice kit..Just my humble opinion..

The heads on this kit were what Chris Coleman used for a clinic the night before.

A very busy player like Chris Coleman would require a two-ply head to be able to properly hear the barrage of notes being played. We get it....you’re fast. Steve Gadd also loved the combination of birch with pinstripe heads....and probably additional muffling as well. Not a speed player per se, but the ability to hear each note which in turn makes it easier for the studio engineer. Bob Gatzen made a drum video in the 90’s and stated he believed thin shells sound better with two-ply heads, and a thick shell are better with single ply heads. I agree with his philosophy. My DW Collectors sound much better with Remo Emperors than with Remo Ambassadors and my Yamaha Maple Custom (thick shell) kit sounds better with Ambassadors.

Ugh Evans ec2 heads, try some Remo coated or clear ambassador heads.

It's a shame you put Evans heads on that kit. Would have been better to at least put coated or clear G1's on it.
