@@mechanicvance2480 muffler screen is super quick and easy, so I'd do that first. Watch out for the little phillip head screws on the muffler outlet... They are loctited on, so get a good fitting driver. Carb disassembly is easy on this saw too. Echo's are my favorite brand to wrench on, for their ease of service. You're not crazy! These are awesome machines, so you'll be happy to get it rippin' again. I'd also investigate a muffler and carb mod, if i were in your shoes. Cheers
@@mechanicvance2480 If you haven't modded the carb limiters, you can't really screw much up. It's only dangerous to the saw, to run it too lean, which the limiters prevent. Try backing out the L screw first, until you get proper throttle response. Then the High jet for top end tuning. Lastly adjust Idle. I wouldn't do any adjustments however, until you clean out the carb. On this saw, it takes just a minute to remove and disassemble the carb. Blast carb cleaner thru the various holes, screen, and the metering needle valve. You'd be surprised what fines can get thru the fuel filter and plug up a carb. A brand new saw will change tune as it breaks in, but I've never seen one break in as far off as yours seems, which is why I suspect a fuel blockage. Good Luck!
Good theory, but seems to have the same problem. Did you check the muffler screen yet? Disassemble the carb and clear the passages?
Good luck!
@@ericfore yup, next up is the least invasive 😉. I appreciate the help, keeps me from thinking I’m crazy for making my decisions.

The carburetor needs adjusted is all...it needs tuned....
@ thanks for the input, I’ve got one more avenue to go down before I start fiddling with the carb, I have to admit it intimidates me to mess with it
