My three word jingles are usually “I choose” and followed by freedom, family, health, wealth (via keeping my money in my pocket) something positive usually. I like the “I choose” cause it takes the grit away from acting like I “can’t” have alcohol. I usually say this at the split turn when driving from work. before either going home ⬅️ or to the store ➡️ to buy wine. I state what i choose before making my turn, then I follow..
This really helped me. I took a photo of myself today smiling & happy. Then I copied it onto Word document with the words Live Light". I taped it to my door leading outside. Seeing this reminded me of "Happy Me" free of alcohol "Living in Light & Lightly Living". It didn't guilt trip me about my past behavior. It reminded me of where I am going. Thanks Kevin!!! 👍👍👍👍
Great example, Barb. Attaching those kind words to your own image :) As far as guilt is concerned, it is what it is. It's a natural emotion. It's one of the big emotions of guided change. But it's useless if we do nothing with it.
@@HabitsV2 I am so very happy....because I have a new image of myself which just stops me in my tracks if I start heading out to the car to get a bottle. So far, so very much better. 😃
3 words use to be, Well done son. Each morning after stopping.for about 2 to 3 months. Now only say it after a real good deed or achievement in day-to-dai life and i smile fondly thinking back on those first couple of months.. Happy 2025 Kevin and all.
Happy New year Kevin, thanks to your videos and constant energetic enthusiastic support im enjoying 2 yrs AF. "I M WINNING " is useful subliminal message to me.
@ Thank you! I shared you on my personal FB page again on New Years Day. Many people are reaching for help and I can listen but not much more other than send them your way. I know they are in good hands 😊❤️🇨🇦
It is what it is. I'm still friendly with everyone I used to drink with, when I meet them on the street. But, we lead different lives now. It's a natural evolution. I'm 12 years on this new path, so when I see any of my old drinking buddies, there's not one of them that doesn't confirm the truth and wisdom in my decision to get out of that way of thinking. Every person must make their own choices and their own way in life. Unearned guilt isn't something I do.
Well said Kevin. I've moved on,told my friends im not going to the pub anymore! As ive stopped! I see them in the street, and say hi,i meet 2 of them to fish! The pub just took my money, soul, character. @HabitsV2

Thankyou for your wonderful channel. Fellow Celt in Australia on my journey to leave alcohol behind ❤

Happy New Year! I feel great, and still at 100% committed. Everyday I Praise the Lord for setting me free. There is nothing better than freedom.
And to you.
Just remembering the pain alcohol caused me is more than enough. Philosophizing also helps.
:)
Cheers lad . Happy new year from Thailand. I can do this. ❤

Do you feel guilty about leaving your old drinking buddies behind?
Not in the least. They should feel bad for continuing their terribly dangerous habit.
