Incredible films, always warms my heart to see this beautiful engine running. The 1980 CSE train and this engine is what started it all for me. Was actually working on some of the passenger cars but sadly got sidelined. Needing to send of my brass engine out for repairs and hopefully sound added. Thank you for sharing this!
@@HappyHoboTrains no doubt, hoping to see with my own eyes someday before something sad happens. I always said that if I hit the lottery I’m doing three things, give some to very close friends, help my brother and parents, and buy this locomotive and have it fully restored and painted back to black.
I rode that trip also. The trip out of TUS was cancelled with the 614. My dad and wife went and spent the night in Orlando to ride the trip to Palatka.
This is awesome with sound. I rode this excursion and have silent Super 8 and 35mm slides. My friend and I I are perplexed as to where they turned 614 to return south. Was a wye still in place at Palatka in 1981? Did the loco go to Pecan for water and coal. Many thanks.
Howdy Mr. Sauret! Love your video! I’m currently working on a mini documentary of the Chessie System and I was wondering if I could use your video in it on a portion about the Chessie Safety Express. I will give you full credit in my documentary.
Hey Mr. Sauret! Thanks again for letting me use your video in my documentary on the chessie system. It’s up now if want to see it. ua-cam.com/video/VfmD-ZrXc1I/v-deo.html

Sad to see this locomotive today as a static display.

You are in the shot of the train at Palatka, as the camera pans the length of the train. I believe I see Gary Anderson there, too.
Stan, the Sunday Trip from TUS was replaced with the two Geeps, but the Saturday trip from TUS with the 614 took place.
3:06 i love the echo of the engine!
A haunting sound, for sure!

Not sure of the location of the wye, but the loco was gone for about 15 minutes for the turn-around. So glad you liked the video!
Great footage!
Glad you enjoyed it

Using excerpts with credit would be OK, and a link to my channel, even better!
@@HappyHoboTrains thanks! Will do!
@@mylesspear Let me know when your video is ready.
@@HappyHoboTrains definitely! I’m aiming for a February 26th release date.
