There are two schools of thought you are describing: animation versus boogaloo/funk styles. Mike Watson/Salah use plently of animation and musicality in their styles, whereas Legend and Gucchon use funk styles and boogaloo. It all depends on what someone prefers.
Generally in battles such as this, when the judges (Skeeter Rabbit and co.) are judging, they wanna see Boogaloo and funk styles. Don't get me wrong, Gucchon and Legend are amazing dancers, when you see them funkin the beat it's like no one else, but they can't pull off animation and tricks like Salah. Just as their is no way Salah could do what they do funk styles. Props to both dancers for both reppin their forms to the max
Salah is also a good locker and breaker besides popping. I've also seen him even do some house and waacking as well. He's really good at all of them. Salah means something like "all things good". That's a rough translation. Anyway both dancers are talented. Every dancer has bad days. They can be dope one day and suck the next, and that goes for all dancers. Also gotta say there is nothing wrong with entertaining the crowd while battling your opponent. Might as well make it look good, IMHO.

actually he didnt beat dementia badly at all, more like barely. I'd say it was due to a bit more animation. infact it was AT THIS event, that i saw it happen in person.
guchon is actually more like the old school style with a little bit of hip hop plus he has some locking experience im scared that the popping world might turn out like salahs style (no offense got great respect for the guy)
