Pop n taco's king cobra at 1:55 is one of the sickest things i have ever seen in my life. Felt that way when i watched that scene as a kid... and even now 20 years later. amazing.

Up to this very day it still amazing to watch.
The first time I watched the movie Breakin back in 84' I was in México and it became a whole new era since it was rock and disco and rock was faiding then Breakin was an awesome experience and that's 37 years ago to today October 2021, thanks to these great performers I fall in to that great experience and I started practicing when I was 17 and to this day Bruno and Boogaloo where the best and the pioneers of Poppin and Breakin.
Thanks to them Michael Jackson did what he did with Michael's magic created a whole new era back then...

Drew, 😂 Yes!! I came across Popin Pete’s email address somehow the other day and wrote to him, and he wrote back right away. He was so sweet. I idolized those guys then and I still do today! I’d pay good money for one of those Electro Rock jackets! 😎

Pop n Taco is dead? No Way! We listen Shabba Doo last year sadly. R.I.P. I went to his 50th birthday party held at the Hippodrome in Leicester Square whenever it's used to be a club. Pop n Taco was there along with Anna "Lollipop" Sanchez'. I didn't recognise him at first because he didn't look cool like he was before in "Breakin'" The Movie. He was ae bit overweight and was wearing a Hawaiian shirt that barely concealed his beer gut. Michael "Boogaloo Shrimp" Chambers wasn't there as he went to the the Breaking Convention at Brixton which was held on the second day of their tour. Shabba Doo wore a Grey Suit but didn't do much Locking really which I was a bit disappointed about although Anna Sanchez showed off some moves, showing she still had it.😃

So he was tryin to pop on a locker or should i say wave he was alright for a second class popper. Hollywood went one place lookin for dancers they thought LA came up with this but it was originated in Oakland then to Sacramento where the best hitters came from but if you didnt know somebody or it wasn't announced this what you end up with 2nd class poppers
While I like your enthusiasm trying to put liquid dancing up there with King Cobra, liquid doesn't compare with the original popping and the likes of great artists like Pop n Taco doing waving and King Cobra. It hasn't the dynamism of the old school Popping. Look at the original Popping, it has a sense of illusion, defying gravity even. Sadly, Liquid Popping isn't proper Popping in my opinion. Compared to what went before it falls flat. I was there in '83 when it came on the news that there was a new dance style just come out in New York and they showed a clip of Frosty Freeze and Mr Freeze doing a Backslide with an umbrella and a bit of Popping. Then Lionel Richie's "'All Night Long" video came out. Later Breakin'" The Movie and then it went crazy one London people would be out with their Lino Popping everywhere. And the music was better too which complemented the moves. When always I went to Leicester Square I always heard Electro music usually "Electric Kingdom" or "Planet Rock". A great time. I was just listening to World Wrecking Crew "Juice ". Dope.😔

imo poppin taco had the best style of popping...skinny jeans poppers is aight, just not into that pencil neckish skinny jeans wearing look.
+Jesussavedme it's just clothes, people wear what they want to wear and what's comfortable...slim boogie is one of the best popper and wears skinny jeans. Thanks for the comment man

As a 51 yr old who watched this movie at the cinema when it first came out, imo Taco changed the standard of what it meant to be levels at poppin, he could transition from liquid like wavin to the sharpest razor like hits, it was a sight to see and left you in awe every single time, RIP to an unsung cultural icon (Greatness is eternal)
