Had the pleasure to have Pops personally demonstrate these Ike’s for us a couple of years ago before he started marketing them. He allowed us to try them. They are wonderful. He spent a lot of time sharing his experiences with us. It was the highlight of our Hawaiian visit! He is a very kind and generous person!❤️
I’m really happy to see that the Pineapple Sunday can be strung for a left hander too. I’m really tempted to purchase a Pineapple Sunday soon. I remember seeing one of these on display in a glass case in a shopping mall in Waikiki near the Ukulele House about 20 years ago.
The scepter tenor was my first quality ukulele 10-15 years ago. I sold it long time ago but regret it. Very happy to see they still build some scepters and temptation has come... Again! :)
@CSI Yes I did but I was pretty new to uke world. I wanted to play different ukes but my budget was limited so... I sold it (but regret iy now...). The scepter is an amazing uke for sure.
I really wanted to get the clip in the video as I'd gone to the effort of getting permission. Sadly, the video resolution was so much lower than the video I shot that it detracted away. Another time though, for sure!
The Scepter carried me away to a peaceful place. Really. I am watching a lot of ukulele videos. It seems to me, that in the lower end models, the sound sort of bounces off the wood. It sounds better as the quality of wood gets better. But I think I am hearing the sound commingle with the wood after a point, like that is when they become especially fine instruments. Resonance? I am listening to the sound of the strumming as well. I noticed the sound of the strumming on the KoAlohas I was hearing. More delicate and "uke-like"? I am trying to avoid the "Mando chop" sound. I hope to get back to England this autumn. I would love to visit your shop. I would want a baritone.
There's a transition that happens with many instruments between £500-1500 where the ukes start to have a lot more depth and character than many inexpensive ukes.

I hear similar stories from so many people... What a guy.

Those are beautiful musical works of art and nicely demonstrated. (It was good to meet you yesterday by the way).

I am fortunate to own both a Pops Pineapple Sunday and the mini masterpiece Pineapple as well.
What a thrill to have all these under your roof!
The scepter looks kinda metal :)
Those are all spectacular
love them both
Love the story that goes with those. Makes me like them more lol. I didn't see the documentary clip attached? Another day for that! :)

My favorite was the miniature uke :-)
Thanks for the review, but the design is not for me.
