    Josh, I'm new to the detailing world and only detail the cars of my family with NO plans to do this professionally so I'm always looking for information. In my digital travels I've never seen anyone who would do what you did in getting this professional PH testing kit. I'm very impressed by your dedication and have learned A LOT from your vids. Great Job and thank you for sharing so much of your knowledge.

    Great follow up Josh. I appreciate the level of integrity to get this squared up and corrected. I haven't used that specific pH meter, but we do use a 4 point pH meter for in process testing at work, which requires 4 buffers to determine slope during calibration. It appears this unit is calibrated in a similar fashion, so I would expect the accuracy of the pH meter to be more reliable than the litmus strips.

    The interesting thing is even with a perfectly calibrated tester, there are still oddities that happen with pH.
    Matt from obsessed garage tested his hyperwash and he was getting higher pH values after dilution. He even ended up getting Dave Phillips from P&S on the phone and even he wasn't sure the mechanism of action causing it.

    That makes me feel better about the bottle of this stuff I bought the day before you did your original video. I am pretty much sold on all the Turtle Wax products available today. I use them exclusively now. Honestly to us home detailers, those extra pennies or even dollars don't matter that much.

    Appreciate you taking the extra steps to improve your testing process to provide the most accurate results. I know on some alkaline water they tell you to drink within 3 months of purchasing, I don't know the science behind the ph changing over time, but that might have been the same thing for the older soap. Curious if they've added some literature about that on the label

      @@imjoshv The bottled water I was talking about is Essentia, it has a claimed 9.5 ph on the bottle. would be interesting to see you do a comparison, of tap, dionized, high alkaline water, vs the soaps. The average consumer is using tap but, the water the manufacturer could be different from what's available in your area. Just thoughts running through my head sorry for rambling. But I love this kind of content

    Wow Josh another excellent video from you I just have one concern that I haven't been able to find the answer to. The pH of 10 you put it straight in a foam Cannon by the time it comes out i of the foam cannon is about a 1:10 dilution so that should bring the PH down to about a 7.3 or so when it sprays onto your car .so how does the alkalinity help? Interested to hear your thoughts and remarks

    Yo Josh! I went through your foam cannon and pressure washer full rundown to get thick foam. I’m having some trouble, I have the MJJC foam cannon with the Ryobi 1.2pm 1800 psi washer and it’s giving me paint type foam output. It’s not like yours as I’m shaving cream. I have tried both orifices and hot water more soap. Any ideas? I am testing it in winter with cold city water.

    • @viperrcr
      @viperrcr Рік тому

      I believe he uses deionized water which will very likely affect foam output compared with all the minerals that are in city water. This may be why you have less foam. If you want to test it out, buy a gallon of deionized water/distilled water, it is pretty cheap and use that in your foam cannon and see the result. Benefit too is that you will get much less water spots from using either deionized/distilled water! Deionized water is even better than distilled water which is better that spring water which is better than city water. Hope that might help you!

    Anyone have an opinion on why I would need to upgrade from a 1.2 GPM pressure washer such as the Ryobi to a 2 GPM such as the Active 2.0.
    This is to wash my car at home I'm not a detailer.
    I'm thinking the active 2.0 may be a bit of an overkill

    • @StratOvation
      @StratOvation Рік тому +1

      Bob, I don't think there is a reason to abandon a working Ryobi to go with the Active 2.0, but when the Ryobi dies, the Active 2.0 would be a great choice as a replacement, simply based on the better components and double the expected life of the unit. One thing to keep in mind though, the Active 2.0 will need to be on a pretty dedicated 15A circuit because it will draw about 13.5 - 14 A by itself.

    • @imjoshv
      @imjoshv  Рік тому +1

      I agree! The ryobi gets the job done at a fantastic price! The extra gpm of an active or other higher flow units make the rinse off easier but if you haven’t used one the you don’t know what you’re missing and if you’re happy with the performance of the ryobi stick with that! Or atleast wait till you are ready for a new pressure washer to go to the active. But no reason to abandon the ryobi! You can even adjust the nozzle size to get more flow from the ryobi if you wanted to

    • @bobsimmons1470
      @bobsimmons1470 Рік тому

      Should have clarified that I was considering the Ryobi but just watched your greenworks review!
      May have to pick up that one from Lowes!
      Thank you!

    • @StratOvation
      @StratOvation Рік тому +1

      @@bobsimmons1470 In that case, I'd recommend the Active 2.0, especially if you already have a decent hose & stubby gun. As someone who upgraded to the Active 2.0 from a small Karcher unit, the difference in performance from an entry level unit to the Active 2.0 is substantial and you get a great value for the small price difference.

    How can more of a product increase PH, you can have a teaspoon or a swimming pool of that soap, the PH isn't going to change because of the quantity.

    • @clintonmccool2330
      @clintonmccool2330 2 місяці тому

      Because if you dilute the product with water, it alters the pH. The more water you add, the more the pH level is affected.
      So yes, the pH of the raw product itself out of the bottle does not change, but once diluted, it does.
