I've experienced the debris in the pump before.
Tiny piece of plastic between the impeller and housing and engine would rev but the ski would barely move.

Pretty much every motorcycle I’ve ever rented in the states was over-filled with oil !!! (It’s something you “Mercans” seem prone to!!)

I know you guys like sea doos. I just picked up 2008 kawa ultra 250 w 191hrs. Has Service history, but been stirred for 5 yrs and not on water. Any advice other than me to sell it because of what jet ski it is. Lol
Hello Thomas, We don’t have any issues with Kawasakis. They make very good machines that are excellent in rough water. Kawasaki‘s are very rare up here, so we don’t have any experience with them. We suggest following our video on buying a new PWC which we put out some time ago. Make sure you check the pump for any water intrusion and smooth operation, and look for any water intrusion into the engine oil, before and after you ride it. Check your oil filter for small silver flakes, as this can often show engine damage. You may also want to check out greenhulk.net forum to see what they suggest for your particular machine. My oil level is right at the top of the bend. Is that too much? Should it be in the center?
That is OK. As long as it is not above the bend.
Hello i have a seadoo 215 and when I squeeze the gas to full throttle it won’t take off as it used to even on sports mode, I have to slowly speed it up, hope you can help me on what to look for thanks.
The normal issues causing this problem are something is stuck in the jet pump or intake grate, a worn impeller, or a worn wear ring. Good luck.

I changed my oil yesterday and overfilled it and was wondering why one ski was faster then the other. Do y’all fill yours up to half way?
Not necessarily. But it is very important to confirm that it is not over filled with oil. If so, drain some out. Good luck.
Looking at getting a used rxpx 260 anything besides the supercharger and intercooler I should watch for?
Look for any oil leaks, possibly caused by head gasket failure. Also check the compression in each cylinder, if you can. The carbon ring could also be an issue, but that it’s harder to check for. You would need to put it in the water to look for a bad seal. Good luck!

Hey, Pat. We’re Sea-Doo guys, so we don’t have much advise about specific Yamahas. We suggest checking out a Waverunner forum online and asking your question there. You can, however, check out our general video on buying a used PWC (see ua-cam.com/video/6iWbH6HYdj0/v-deo.html). In addition to the items in the video, if you have the opportunity we suggest checking the compression in each cylinder. Taking it for a test ride is also very well advised, if the seller allows you. The ski is at the dealership, but it has no dash board electronics. they should arrive any moment now. It’s been torture waiting for it!

We have a buyer for it, but we won’t be selling it until the new ski is ready to go. Safe riding in Ireland!
