Thanks for watching folks. Please consider a thumbs up if you have enjoyed it and subscribe if you haven’t already.
Hi.are you still going considering whats happened in morocco?earthquakes etc
@@bucknut7241 yes the plan is still going ahead at the moment. We will have to take a different route now I think. As difficult as it will be for people affected by what has happened, I’m sure the rest of the country will need things to carry on and some of those areas do need some tourism.
I have a 2002 1150 GSA in Taiwan, we have to MOT every 6 Month’s and the MOT station is a 100km round trip. 😢 I find myself repairing & fixing constantly from MOT to MOT sometimes only riding a few times between MOT in case something breaks and I cannot make the MOT date ha ha. Great Vid.
That sounds like a lot of hassle. Good on you for keeping the bike going.
You’ll get it sorted buddy, you always do. Great of Doc Holiday to turn out and lend a hand, good on ya Joe. 👍
Just to add….when you get over to Morocco, for gods sake don’t buy a camel. Knowing your luck it would surely turn out to be yet another old knacker! 😂
Regards,
Dazza. 🇬🇧
If the bike breaks down I might be coming back on a camel 😂
Thanks @MrDazza64... it was my pleasure!
It's a learning curve mate and your doing quite a big job there so don't be too hard on yourself
You are taking one step forward and two steps backwards at the moment! take a deep breath relax and get your head in the game m8.great of your m8 to help you always nice when that happens, things should start moving a little bit faster now for you.really enjoyed the video look forward to the next one.
I would go for Old Yellow, as it really suits the bikes character. Another great vid, I enjoyed every minute of it. Hard work but hopefully worth it in the end. ATB Big Dave Scotland.
Thank you.
Way late to the thread. Good video - helpful. Regarding a name , Ole’ Yellow is loyal right up to the point that he/she (can’t remember) goes rabid and out of control - is that really something you want to have in the back of your mind when you’re riding 100’s of miles?
G'Day mate, I stumbled across your channel today and I'm really enjoying watching your progress with the GS. I do a similar thing in regards to buying reasonably neglected bikes and bringing them back to their original glory. I look forward to seeing more of your progress.
I see on your wall a sign for HM Prison, not sure if that's your job or not, but I'm about to click over 28 years as a correctional officer here in Central Australia.
Go for Old Yella as the bike name.
Cheers
Geoff in Alice Springs Central Australia.
Thanks for you reply, I do enjoy bringing back old bikes other wouldn’t.
The sign was in an old disused prison I was refurbishing, I thought it looked cool so decided to use it as wall art rather than going in the skip. It has some interesting writing scratched into when you look at it up close.
its always cool when someone comes and gives you a hand especially when youre letting things get on top of you good on joe
What a top bloke he is for helping out. He may even come again.
Thanks fella, it was a great day tbh!
Honestly I am impressed and u are making me love my R1150GS more.
All I can say is Weldone and wish u all the best.
Happy to hear that!
You are doing well and I am enjoying the clips....Thanks and good luck
Thank you.
At least you're handy with the tools mate, that's saved you loads of money. It will be worth it when you're there it will be a great trip
Cheers for the mention , best luck 👍
Wow thank you very much, really appreciated!!!
Another corner turned. You must feel like this is going to happen now 👍
Getting there but I will be much happier when the clutch is back in.
You've got some great mates and very generous followers. Fab video
Absolutely, I’m very fortunate to have some great people helping out.
Cool vid good to see you are getting here you are going to love ❤️ morocco 🇲🇦 😎🤘
Thanks mate. I’m looking forward to it. Just a stressful few weeks before it.
Great Post, love the positive way you tackle all the work, it will be all worth it in the end......
Hope so!
Both suggestions are good buy Old Yella I recon 😊
For a second there,
I thought I was watching Helmut Head eating in slow motion! Ha-Ha!
Good luck with your adventure prep! I'm rooting for you!
Thank you.
Keep going to dude you can do this 💪
Thanks mate.
Enjoying the journey 👍🏻
My vote is for “Old Yella”
Thanks buddy!!
Great video hopefully it all comes together
Thanks. I’ve got my fingers crossed.
Comment on the adventure shocks:
This might get you in trouble with the main stand. Could be to short with the longer shocks.
And the kardan in the normal GS can’t bent as much as the adventure does. So it can be a problem under heavy load. The adventure kardan is different for this reason.
Agreed. Great deal on the shocks but you won’t be able to use the main stand with them and the bike will lean too far on the side stand unless you change it. Great vid, really enjoyed it.
You might want to Google this mod as there is some debate as to whether the driveshaft needs to be changed to the adv one too due to different length splines.
Thank you for the information. I will look in to it.
Stupid German engineering. 🤪
coming together
Great video you’ll get there . Ps what’s Joes channel name

Have you retorked the cylinder heads as you need to chek.
Yes I did that very early on when I got the bike.
Looks like fun might as well completely refurbish the bike👍
If I had the time before the trip I would.
You can buy Alcohol in Morocco. Some big supermarkets sell it and hotels and bars that look like closed shops. Am originally from Morocco
Well that’s good to know thanks. I was assuming we wouldn’t be able to buy any.
Old yella sounds 👍🏻
My Goodness..... you Didn't paint those coil springs yellow, while you had them out .....? What were you Thinking 🤔
Got to be Old Yellow 😉
Where did you get those blue stripey underpants? Love!y
😂 thanks for noticing, they are tescos finest underpants 😂
Too much honesty!
This job at a shop would probably be 3-4,000 £ job…at least.
Hans..Hans down..lol
Should be able to get seals from any industrial supplier, just need to quote the ID, OD and thickness, together with type, i.e., single lip, double lip etc, or take your original as sample. 🙄
Thanks, got the new ones now and just editing the next video 😉
Hans!
That Rear Main Seal for the engine looks like a replica from Motorworks or somewhere, they are Garbage. always used genuine.
Will the earthquake have a impact on your trip.
Good question. At the moment the trip is still going ahead. Obviously we may need to look at the route we are taking but we are still going at present.
Dont Forget that the owner of "Old Yeller" had to take him into the woods and shoot him in the end...
It was for the best...
Well we may have to gloss over that part of the story 😂
