Extremely important album for the band. Jason walked out, James checked into rehab and also had just damaged his vocal cords singing “So F***ing What” at a concert. For the first time all the members contributed to the lyrics of the songs and were also seeking a new bass player. That’s a lot going on at one time while trying to produce a new record. They came out the other side of this tighter as a band than they’ve been in years.
This was James' post-rehab album so it's very different than all their other music. If you want to see what was going on check out the documentary Some Kind Of Monster.
This song and invisible kid are two of my favorite songs off that album. Those two songs could really help a lot of people it's so sad that this album has been crapped on.
Interesting selection and I'm all here for it. I've seen you do some of their biggest songs on their biggest records, but then you do a song on their hated recorded. I enjoy a good majority of St. Anger and appreciate it for what it is. If nothing else, you have to say its unique. You always know when you're listening to a song from this record.
Do st. anger from 2004 Germany live its great version of that song people dont like that song's studio version bcz the snare sounds like trash can but i love both versions but i want you guys to react on st.anger from Germany 2004 live. ❤🔥🤘🏽 Youre reactions made my day
HEHEHE! Oh nooo... :) St. Anger Album... Sorry you had to listen to that one... If you are going to do more from that album, I highly recommend you to do live versions... :) But nice reaction though.
The entire St. Anger album was composed and produced in a very anti-Metallica way, intentionally rough and thrown far away from their previous 'habits'... no solos, simplistic structures, exploring disharmonics as an emotional tool, even the unlocked snare (which is toned WAY down in the video cut). Did you catch Abby from NCIS in this video? Pauley Perrette is the woman having the anxiety attack in the club. Anyhow... St. Anger wasn't supposed to be a "good" album. It was supposed to be an exposition, a purge. The group going "We absolutely hate what we became and this is what that sounds and feels like, maybe you can see it in your world before it happens to you, don't go through it blind like we did." They were 'ugly' and so the art was 'ugly', but with a purpose.
Hey umm, could you react to some maaaybe a little heavier stuff? I would like to suggest a few songs. Meshuggah - Pineal Gland Optics Meshuggah - Future Breed Machine // P.S. (my personal favorite) Meshuggah - ObZen or Archspire - Breed The Future Archspire - Golden Mouth of Ruin Archspire - A.U.M. // P.S. i would recommend this one for beginning or some more "POP-style" metal Slaughter To Prevail - Bonebreaker Slaughter To Prevail - Chronic Slaughter Slaughter To Prevail - Baba Yaga // P.S. also recommending to start from this one .............. It would be great to see your reaction for one of any of these songs. Thank you so much for content!
📌Please don't do anymore St. Anger songs. A bunch in their catalog (exclude St.Anger) Love all your other Metallica reactions 🤘. Amanda 🗣️ "first Boner"😂.
