One of my favorite things to do is to get out early in the surf to catch some ladyfish or small jacks on lures to use for cut bait and then throw it out as far as possible in hopes of some big game.

Back on that same day we have caught at least 5 big Jack's about that size and a couple of sharks
"Dragging them on the sand messes them up pretty good." So true. I see fisherpeoples do this all the time, not realizing when sand, (especially dry sand), enters the fishes gills it drastically reduces the chances that fish will survive.

Aloha From Hawai'i. Great video. People come here from around the world to fish for our Great Trevally aka GT but I believe pound for pound it's close relative the Jack Crevalle just as strong sizes being equal. I see allot of people getting upset when they discover it's a Jack on the end of their line. If you're out fishing for food then I understand but if it's to experience a great fight with C&R in mind the Jack Crevalle is hard to beat. Thanks for showing this fish some respect.
We have Ladyfish here too though the ones here can grow to over 20 pounds.

Just because you thought the thumbnail was real doesn't make you stupid. Not everyone is an angler that fishes the ocean. Even if you were an ocean angler, there are so many species out there and so many unknown species that are rare. If anyone has watched the channel "Cavy" you will see/know there are a ton of species out there that are unknown, and a lot of crazy looking ones. No need to call someone stupid.

If you know there's stingrays in your area or around you make sure you shuffle your feet, it can stir the sand or sediment up and the rays will see it coming or won't be spooked and stab you!

This is in the morning :) Generally I prefer fishing the surf in the morning, but night is really good for shark.

Not the same thing. Crevalle Jacks like this are related to the Giant Trevally but at max size these only get to be in the 50 lbs. range where GT's get to be 3 times that size.

I fish for sport most the time but will occasionally eat them. Its a good thing to catch and release for the next generation to catch. Plus not all fish are good to eat.
