Petra's planning to learn to wield Strand, wow. I genuinely wish her good luck. She could definitely use some additional power to be able to better protect her people.
That or it's a setup for Petra to be our mortal wielding the next Darkness power. It'd fit the usual Destiny trio, Elsie the Exo for Stasis, Osiris the human for Strand, and Petra the Awoken for the next thing. Unrelated, how is Strand a Darkness power? We got Stasis directly from the Pyramids so that makes sense but Strand more or less just appeared out of nowhere. Bad writing? Is bad writing where Strand comes from?
@@scribejay Strand came from the veil. The veil is the paracausal entity that is the source of the darkness. It’s the traveler’s equal and opposite. There’s actually a whole lot of depth to all this stuff while you’re keeping up with the story and making sure to watch Laura videos and shit, you’ll understand but if you’ve missed like two seasons worth, you can end up lost very quickly I recommend just looking up stuff like “what is strand” “what is the veil” and looking for videos that have appeared within the past two -three months
@@scribejay It`s already made clear, that Strand is an aftereffect by the psychic abilities (darkness) of the Veil. It`s strongest in the near of the Veil. That`s why we first find it on Neomuna.
@@scribejay From what I gather, the light and dark go like this: The Light represents the metaphysical elements of the universe, and thus deals with the intangible. The darkness, on the other hand, deals with the actual physical world - basically serves as a representation of structure and solidity. Strand is, after all, quite literally the binding strings of the universe being manipulated by us, so it fits as a darkness power. It's also important to remember that the Pyraminds - and thus the Witness - aren't actually THE darkness. They just wield its power to their own ends. Learning stasis from them was more or less incidental as it seems to be the most...well, controlling element of the two, with the Witness ultimately seeking to control the universe and all that.

It preyed on their fear and obsession. Stasis itself can corrupt, but it’s based on your emotions and how you view it. The Witness had tried to corrupt our ranks, but had only managed to corrupt a few dozen Guardians. Some are even imprisoned, being treated still today. Ultimately, Elizabeth, Drifter, and Eris’ efforts made it so the Guardians didn’t fall to darkness. Not all of us anyway. Instead of the Witness corrupting us, we took its gift of Stasis it offered, to use aginst it. Stasis was made and used by the Witness and its forces, where Strand is outside its influence. It comes from the Darkness, the Veil itself, untouched by the Witness. Strand is all about freedom, and fluidity, something the Witness’ ideology is aginst. Which is why all it’s forces wield Stasis or Taken energy, both are about control, and forcing one’s will over others. Strand is the opposite of control. Which is why the Witness couldn’t and wouldn’t ever wield it.

The House of Wolves. Skolas, the Kell that lead the house plans to unify with the other houses and proclaim himself Kell of Kells. By the request of Queen Mara, she invited us to the Reef outpost where we met Petra and Variks. With their help; we track and capture Skolas and brought him to the Prison of Elders. And it is there we finally put the Wolf Kell down and that was the end of it. Man, has it been nine years?
Petra is indeed, correct. Osiris’ greatest tool, wasn’t just his Light. It was his mind. He carries the knowledge and wisdom of centuries, entire generations. Many times has he risen again from the ashes, and yet the Phionix still carries his torch of knowledge, shining his light upon all he meets. His grey view on the Light, questioning the Traveler, researching the Vex and paracusality, he’d been ahead of his time, like Ulan-Tan, like Mara, Eris, Elizabeth, and Drifter. Even now, with the conversations he’s had, you can tell, how much everyone values his wisdom. He was more than just a Guardian. He’s a teacher, a scientist, a political mediator, with how well his charisma smoothed our relations with Neomuna, working with its scientists to discover more about paracuasality, and the history between Earth and Neptune. Osiris truly is one of the most sage scholars of his time.
Didn't know Osiris could weald Strand i saw him fiddling with it in those New Light cutscenes but didn't know he had like, control over it. Maybe not to our extent but still, even without the Light Strand can be used to a degree it seems 🤔 Can't imagine The Cabal & Petra using it, but if Osiris could, then they could too... if im understanding the comms right 🤔😳
Darkness can be wielded by all races as it's an internal ability inherent to conciousness and thought. Light is granted but Darkness is found within. Theres rumors of Caiatls legionaries wanting to learn stasis and strand as well.
