    It is Finally Here. Bohemian Cello EXP1 is going into Beta starting tomorrow and we plan to have the full release as soon as Beta testers agree that our Release candidate is ready ;) As you can see and hear a lot has changed with the EXP1 including all new 35k+ samples. In the end we have decided to replace the Cellist to improve the library beyond it's original potential. This meant starting from scratch, but it delivers an instrument that fits our vision and delivers much richer timbre. Of course this expansion is free for all existing users ;). This technically means that you will now have 2 different cellos - the original base and the new Expanded version

    Insane, so glad you understand the register of the cello, when other libraries do improv they play it in the violin register :/
    will definitely be picking this up soon!

    This is great. I just wish you could transition between short and long notes using velocity only, Sample Modeling style.

    Hi there, does this track quicker than Tina Guo's Legato VST Cello? Her's sounds amazing but I'm struggling with the latency... is this quicker? Would appreciate your answer thanks.

    • @Virharmonic
      @Virharmonic  4 роки тому +2

      Hi Reinhardt. As with all legato instruments there is some latency to give it the nice transitions we have, but it isn’t something that is overly noticeable as the instrument was designed to be great for both renders and live play. You can see the latency in the video between the player pressing the notes and the sound coming out. Hope that helps.

      @@Virharmonic That helps thanks for the quick response!, do you know how much different it is to Tina Guo legato? Sorry for the straight up question, if you can't answer then its also fine.

      Reinhardt Buhr honestly we have no idea as we don’t have Tina to compare. Maybe one of the users will comment, but I can’t give you the difference

      I completely understand your concern, as it is the same as mine. I have been wanting to get this instrument (and the violin) for a long, long time, but I am worried about the legato latency as I have bad experiences with other instruments. Recently, I got the solo violin from 8Dio and, while it is a great instrument and I already envisage some uses for it for sure, I don't feel I can use it much for solo parts, especially fast ones, because I find that the legato run articulation is not responsive, in my experience. I tend to do lots of runs and triplets in my compositions and I find that most strings libraries do not perform well in that department. The major thing that keeps me from buying the virharmonic instruments is some of the demos on their websites, especially the first demo for the cello. It is an absolutely gorgeous composition, mind you, but something sounds extremely off to me, namely what sounds like notes starting late and thus throwing off the whole tempo of the composition. But then I watch the demos on here and it seems okay, so I don't know ... I really wish there was a demo version of the product one can download to try the instrument for oneself before deciding whether to buy it.

    I'm simply in love with your Work, but is there any chance, that you get rid of this UVI Workstartion? (It's one of the most useless things I've ever had to use...) Just make it a Stand alone VST. PLEASE!

    • @Virharmonic
      @Virharmonic  6 років тому +2

      Hi Obscure, Thank you for the kind words. The reason we use UVI Workstation is because it enables us to develop the instruments you and others want. Making Stand Alone VST would mean reallocating resources we use for Instruments development and spending it on Plugin which would cause huge delays (easily a year +) and also would require a much larger team to guarantee compatibility on all the systems/DAWs ect. If you have any issues with UVI Workstation please email our support with the list of features you would like to see and we can communicate these to UVI dev team. We found that UVI are amazing at taking on feedback and developing a really powerful tool for both the composers and the developers.

    Sounds great. Can't wait to get mine and see if I can finally retire Tina Guo's amazing legato.

    • @eamonnmcloughlin129
      @eamonnmcloughlin129 6 років тому

      Nearly 5 octaves? This is a must have and that tone is so realistic. Better than Emotional Cello and Tina Guo's. Emotional Cello sounds old now at this stage and Tina's is over processed and has only 3 octaves. Can't wait for it. So glad I invested in this cello.

    • @eamonnmcloughlin129
      @eamonnmcloughlin129 6 років тому

      It sounds plasticky now. I was playing it the other day. Even the old bohemian sounds better when you quickly run up the keys. The emotional cello sounds fake, because there's only one velocity layer, the bohemian has several and sounds more real. And that's just the old one.
      Also, the Bohemian has round robins built in so when you play the same note again and again you don't get the machine gun effect that you do on the Emotional cello.
      So like I say, it's better than Emotional Cello. Even if it does have a full 5 octaves, but I have a feeling a lot of those samples are stretched at the higher and lower end.

      @@ReinhardtBuhr yes it's quicker. The last time I used it, it sounded thin in comparison, but I was told that would be fixed later on. Not sure if it is as I don't have it anymore.
