I know I was supposed to have my full studio tour video out today... but that has turned into a bigger task than I thought so will be out next Sunday or the one after! Hope you enjoy this one, cheers
As ever, not only do you have impeccable tast in guitars, really right up my alley, but your playing is getting tastier and tastier. Cheers to that, and cheers to really paying attention to the finesse and subtlety that coaxes such beautiful music from these glorious machines. You’re a constant inspiration. Thanks for that.
Fantastic James. You’re definitely venturing into more melodic story telling now, because even when you comment you’ve messed up, I think as the listener, well I didn’t hear it. Impressive 👌
Usually what turns me off from getting a non Gibson or non Fender replica is the headstock design. They just don’t look great with the overall design of the guitar but this one really works.
👏Appreciate the text accompanying the playing it is really helpful to see what you’re thinking/concentrating on. Would love to see a vid on taming big rigs with OD and your thought process for dialing in a fuzz. 🙏
So this is about half the price or less, the finish feels much better - more authentic and also with more personality. Also, these instruments are made one by one and nico, like the best small makers really takes the time to build the best, with the best techniques and with wood he trusts. Hope that helps
I have always liked the early 1954 to 1956 black customs prior to the PAF humbuckers. Ironically it is also the most "affordable" in relative terms of the original Les Paul run. Perhaps one day...
That’s a beautiful guitar for sure. By the way, I don’t mean any offence at all by this, but it confuses me when a good guitarist struggles with bass. I played guitar for about ten years before I ever picked up a bass, but when I did, I automatically could just play it. And well enough that I spent the next few years getting more gigs playing bass than playing guitar.
Haha fair enough. I don’t struggle… in the 20 minutes i’ve played one I imagine it has been a bit better than a non guitarist playing one! I just haven’t ever spent the time to get a good solid technique and groove going. But I plan to now

Our eyes are soooo used to that open book. Main reason why I never wanted a Heritage or Eastman.

James why did you prefer this to the “best” custom shop equivalent? Thanks for your thoughts and advice.

duncan only make staple p90s through their custom shop, i think lollar make the most popular staples
