Think I *might* be your first post-1,000 subscriber comment, Debs. Congratulations! And let me just take the opportunity to say no one has ever deserved it more. You make the community so much more fun!
Oh me too Pat 😊. At some time during 2025 we really ought to do a buddy read. It’s about the only BookTube thing we haven’t done yet. Thank you for your support Pat, it means so much 😊
Great video Debs, you have a busy year coming up it sounds like. I’m looking forward to being a part of that with our buddy read of Lord of the Flies next month 👍
Wonderful list of plans! Glad to hear them, and I may plug into one or two BT events/projects I'd not caught wind of before. Endless Drama is quite tempting. I also just turned 59. I'm thinking of something like a 1901-1965 project, with a book for each year. Very nice to find your channel.
Thank you so much. Yes I quite like semi-organised chaos, which is just as well really as that is what my whole life is like 😂. Happy New Year to you and yours 🎉🎉🎉
Happy 1K day! I love your leading up to 60 projects and all of the other events and groups as well. So glad we’re in some of the same groups and thank you for linking Endless Drama. I can’t wait to see what you have stolen from your dad’s library!😃Great plans!
Great plans, Debs. I feel similarly about poetry, though I've not set it as a goal. It's wonderful you're joining part of the Reading the Globe project with the #ReadingTheGlobeFiction2025 section I'm hosting with Ros. Maybe I'll tempt you with some of the classics I'm hosting solo or the cosy MG/YA readalong I'm hosting with Jack. Not that you need to add to your plans which are fab already 😊
Congrats on 1000 subscribers Debs 👏 so well deserved. The number of plans you have is massive but I know what a voracious reader you are and how you juggle plans and projects so effortlessly. I look forward to seeing what you get up to in 2025!
There’s a lot to be said for not planning and it takes a certain amount of discipline 😂. Thank you for your support and I look forward to seeing what you do get up to 😊
We should all read what we enjoy. I am 66, studied English Literature and only read the whole Paradise Lost only last year. But I am glad because I think my mature years and deeper, wider reading in the intervening years informed my appreciation of it. I really like your project of reading an author from since the year you were born. It’s giving me ideas too. I start my day with reading poetry, some in my mother tongue Bengali, mostly Tagore, but also in English, classic as well as modern, also in German,( while looking up difficult words in English). In Search Of Lost Time has been on my shelves for quite some time now, maybe I’ll follow you and give it a go. I love reading translated books, brings a deeper perspective of the world away from our little corner. I read anything too, except Business ,can’t get my head round that. Love Crime Fiction. I promised myself that I’d read every volume of Tagore’s collected works and I finished the first 4. So I shall start on the 5th. I am also very interested in The Mahabharata and we have a very erudite author who writes on it, all the nitty gritties of it,so that is another project of mine I shall be continuing with.
Those plans sound absolutely wonderful. I agree that being older brings a different perspective and I am enjoying rereading things that I studied for English literature exams (and hated at school) and finding that I thoroughly enjoy them now. Reading poetry is just a lovely way to start the day. I may start doing that myself. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I really appreciate you taking the time 😊
That sounds absolutely massive! Will you have time to breathe? (Just kidding:)) I'll be doing the Proust as well (a re-read for me). I had been thinking of re-reading it when this group came along, so I knew I was destined for another visit with Marcel. Otherwise, I'll be reading some of Jane Austen's "horrid" Gothic novels. I'm saving most of my energy for starting my own channel next year. Right now I am bogged down in the technical side; I feel like an absolute Luddite. But I already have two subscribers to this non-existent channel and I can't let them down...
Congratulations on 1k!! Well deserved. Reading stolen books sounds like it could be a booktube reading challenge. 🤣🤣 I would also like to explore more poetry. I look forward to seeing you in several of the shared group/reading events in 2025.
As I've told you before, you are definitely one of my favourites. I look forward to your videos and you make me laugh often. Good luck with 1000 - you're nearly there as I type.
I haven’t even started thinking about my 2025 list with the exception of finishing Les Miserables and reading The Lord of The Rings after that it’s all up in the air.
I love the map on the wall and would love to see how many you have actually tagged! I teach 6th grade history and have just found the Historathon from your channel this past week and joined for next year. I am so excited!!! I actually teach Ancient History to my 6th graders!
I shall certainly do a map tour very soon. That’s a great idea 😊. I’m so glad you’ve joined Historathon. It’s a fabulous event and there is so much chat on the Discord group. I really hope you enjoy it 😊
I am glad I found you this year too my absolutely lovely friend. I am looking forward to reading more with you and can’t wait for your book club. Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉
Hi Debs, I found your channel through recommendation of Heather (Heathereads) and I like it. Your reading plans sound exciting. Your idea 60 before 60 sounds great, I would like to imitate it, but that would mean 66 before 66 for me and is probably not possible until the end of May. But in general, I am also a fan of such reading games. A little over a year ago, I discovered the literature of the Victorian era for myself, but also other British authors (I live in Germany). I started reading Thomas Hardy and Anthony Trollope, as well as the Brontë sisters, then Wilkie Collins, George Eliot, etc. A very big wish of mine is to discover even more of it in 2025. Since everyone is enthusiastic about it, I would also like to explore Russian literature, so far I only know Crime and Punishment (which I liked) and some short stories. So far I couldn't do much with Russian literature, maybe this time I'll manage to discover the magic. Anyway, I'm looking forward to more videos of you and wish you a good New Year's Eve.
Hello and welcome. Your plans sound brilliant, I also enjoy Victorian literature and am hoping to read more of it in 2025, especially Trollope. I’m looking forward to some Russian literature too. So glad you popped by, thank you 😊
There are lots of occasions where you can combine events. When you get to Occult Detective October, let me know, and I'll find you something that fits in with whatever year you're up to in the Reading your life challenge. 😊
Congrats on your topping 1000. You're really creative in your personal projects. I am doing Proust too, and Historathon. It should be a good year. I think reading poetry is the only gap in your reading, and I think you'll love the experience. Im going to read some more Japanese work this year, and Chinese and Indian history.
It happened overnight Heather and I am absolutely blown away. Thank you for your support, it is very much appreciated and a happy bookish 2025 to you 😊
So you’ve broken your glasses again. Congrats on all those subscribers. Suggest Wendy Cope for poetry. Surely you’re onto her. Wordsworth, Emily Dickinson, AE Housman, Dennis O’Driscoll, and UA Fanthorpe.
Haha. I knew someone would notice 😂. Yep, because I’ve stuck them solid and they don’t bend any more, they are quite difficult to transport anywhere. I have not come across Wendy Cope. Thank you so much for the suggestion. I have also not read Dennis O’Driscoll or UA Fanthorpe. I shall track some down 😊
Absolutely amazing!! I was wondering if I could help you SEO and optimization of your videos to get a bigger audience for your channel. can we discuss more?
Looks like 1000 to me. 🙂 Good plans.
Title for a future video: Confessions of a Book Thief. 😂
Haha I love that. Yes it’s a brilliant title for my videos 😂. Thanks David 😊
Think I *might* be your first post-1,000 subscriber comment, Debs. Congratulations! And let me just take the opportunity to say no one has ever deserved it more. You make the community so much more fun!
Wow, thanks John. You are a wonderful man and I am so looking forward to reading with you in 2025 ❤
Wonderful reading plans, Debs! I’m so delighted to be participating in so many reading events with you!

Thanks Alan. I’m really looking forward to reading with you. Hopefully it will be the first of many 😊

Thank you so much for popping by. Your project sounds fabulous. 1965 was a very fine vintage 😂
Your plans sound like a wonderfully controlled chaos! It sounds like your 2025 Book life will be exciting and fun, and that's the whole point...
Thank you so much. Yes I quite like semi-organised chaos, which is just as well really as that is what my whole life is like 😂. Happy New Year to you and yours 🎉🎉🎉
