Ever since I saw him play this tune at the Syracuse Jazz Festival in 1992 I have maintained that this is THE single GREATEST song I have ever seen played live -- bar none!
That crazy ass percussionist is none other that Miguel Fuentes. I played with him in Patti Labelle's band and lost contact with him. Anyone run across him please let me Ron Smith know.
Bill Jolly, keyboards. Richard Lee, guitar. Lamar Brantley, bass.Curt Dowd, keyboards. Miguel Fuentes, percussion. Brother Darryl Washington, drums. And of course the Great and Humble Grover Washington Jr. Saxophones.!
His live performance of 'Let It Flow' at the Jacksonville Jazz Festival circa 1992 gives this performance a run for its money; same line up with the exception of the percussionist. Either way, it's vintage Grover!
Who's on the organ here? Those guys were COOKING. damn. Might be the best version of this I've ever heard, holy moly. Love always to Grover, missing you man.
Pretty sure this is the same cut his daughter used on the 2010 Live CD she did ? I would love to own this full video and will try to contact her . I can her Grover playing in Heaven ,he will always be my favorite !!
@publius352 I think he knew Mike...Grover was on Motown back in the day and he recorded I can't help it which was written by Stevie and performed by Mike so he knew all of them. You can't knock Mike. The one to be upset with is Kenny G. Grover never got ENOUGH recognition because people were too busy lifting up Kenny G and making him a superstar without realizing that Kenny practiced every note Grover played (Kenny's words not mine)! That's what I don't like!
Nothing beats this performance. This is the one that made me start to learn and play.
H.E.L.L. Y.E.A.H. PARTY YALL Lanar Brantley,DETROITBASS, R.I.P. GROVER.

Grover was the saxophonist that I took note of when I was a child. His style developed much of my playing.
