Taito says they're the gatekeeper between mid Tier & Top Tier. That seems to be the case when asking anyone "name five famous Taito games" and they can only name two off the bat. ;-)
@pablot-r9402 Taito in general is mid-tier imo. Well, more inconsistently mid tier compared to Jaleco. They have some great games, some rather mediocre games, and some… not good ones.
I remember my older brother always being critical of 2-D sprite based, super scaler racing / perspective games (made by any company) and saying "these games are obviously striving for realism, but aren't quite simulators". We had a C64 and CAmiga500 at home, so I guess by then we were already spoiled with ambitious flight & racing simulator games, not even counting vector graphics games which were the first real "arcade simulators".
you can't see ahead of you because it's like you're constantly cresting over a hill, and when your perspective does let you see ahead, the road unspools in uneven chunks and those 90 degree turns are a total crapshoot, although that seems appropriate because if you did that in real life you wouldn't be very in control of your vehicle
A racing game with the setting being San Francisco, in the United States, using kilometers per hour for the speed instead of miles per hour. Just seems wrong 😂 Maybe this is from the old "well kids, by the time YOU are adults the United States will change to the metric system" era. 🤣 Edit : At least the police car does resemble a Plymouth Fury, because as we all know from old tv shows, all police cars in the 1970s and 80s were Plymouth Furys!
Because its made by Japanese company. JAPAN use KMH instead of MPH. They also made *Big Run* and *F1 Grand Prix Star* . Also very few Jaleco games got ported to Consoles, i only remember a few like *Big Run* on SNES/SFC.
Outrun at Home
Jaleco, King of Mid Teir Games
Tecmo would like a word

This game was left in the shopping center and no one played it, I was always curious since I didn't have any money.
警察主催のパトカーレースってある意味攻めたゲームだ。
Fun Fact: Its a Same Engine as they used on a previous jaleco racing driving game Dakar Rally in 1989.
"Big Run"?
@@blukmage19typeR Yes : )
@@blukmage19typeR Even the same billboards appear in both games
クレイジータクシー並みのアップダウン感!
スプライトで表現してるのすごっ!

I love that it features a realistic 70s police car. Like a Dodge Polara with a 440 v8 😁
Never heard of this game.
So Jaleco’s answer to Chase H.Q.?
Real gaming legendary fun
あれ?クラクションで前の車どかしたりできたやつでしたっけ?
なんかもっと賑やかな音してたような記憶があるなあ
いろんな意味で狂気を感じる😂
So what are we doing here, is this cops having a race? And jesus it hurts my eyes.
Heartwarming to see fans from all over enjoy an obscure game!
(Uh. Anyone know why this game has no soundtrack? I figured budget.)
What a mess...lol How does the brain decode this into a game.

I support the idea since most of the world uses kmh instead of mph
