yeah because the GPU is maxed out, so the cpu isn't doing anything. This channel has no clue how to test.
yeah you only really want a 1080p test so the graphics card doesnt bottleneck the cpu
@@SixDasher Actually I DID want 4k results... Everyone else shows 1080p to show the difference between the CPU, which is great and all, but EVERY youtuber shows this... Im not an e-sportser. I like 4k eye candy and VR. I want to know which CPUs really needs an upgrade for high resolution gaming. This video was great because it showed both, so is handy for the high fps gang AND the high resolution gang.

think the 12th gen i7 really makes the difference if you already have a high refresh rate monitor
4770k is still very capable for gaming but if you need more than that then definitely upgrade
The thing is, the i7 12700k has more headroom for GPU upgrades without high bottlenecks (compared to the 4770)
So if he used a different GPU it'd probably make a difference

Nice. I still have my old i7 4770 with a 1060gtx. Looking to get either the i5 12th 10 core or the new ryzen 7000s coming out. But if I got the 3080 rtx for free. Least my comp can still run 60fps or more on game even though the battleneck is huge.
wow at higher res .. the GPU is all it need to run the game .. not much a diff between and help from the CPU Clock and tech on the newer one.

euhm, check the gpu usage, when they get over 94-95% that means they are bottlenecking and any cpu test is invalid from that point on. The guy running this channel has no clue how to test.

I wanted to see exactly what they showed. If the 4770k is bottlenecking a high-end graphics card in 4K. And it obviously does because, in a lot of games, the GPU was below 90% usage even in 4K.
I don't care for 1080p, I haven't played in 1080p since 2016.
I have a 4k 144hz monitor and need to see if I should upgrade my CPU or if I also need a GPU.

Basically the 4770K gets rekt in massive open world games like Cyberpunk 2077 or strategy games. For the rest it's still a good gaming chip considering the age.

8 years and 2x to 3x times faster, years ago I've thought that after 7 years most consumers cpus would be around 5 or 10 times faster. At the end I'm thankful to Amd for pressuring Intel to increase its core count above 4c.

@@l4kkyl333 efficiency went up as transistors became smaller, until quantum tunneling started to play a role. You can incriese the chip size but wont get the same returns anymore, and that can only take you so far.

That 4770k could really benefit from some 2133+ Memory along with a nice OC. Kinda crazy that in CP while walking the performance was the same! I still run a 4790k @ 4.8 / 5700xt /1440p and I still don't see myself upgrading for another Year or two. Best PC part I ever bought was this 4790k! Especially at high resolutions- you can even pair it with a 4090 at 4k with little to no bottlenecking, which sounds ridiculous but the CPU is much less important with those higher resolutions! There's videos on YT that talk about it if you're curious.

it’s because at higher resolutions (1440p+) cyberpunk is almost entirely gpu bound. so it depends on what resolution you play. there is absolutely a different in the cpus. much much faster with the newer ones. i’d upgrade this christmas if i were you cuz my old build (ryzen 7 3700x + radeon rx 5700 xt + 32 gb ram, liquid cooled) is getting INCREDIBLY outdated for new games.
please. invest now while prices are low before you regret it. buy a 4000 series with an intel i7-13700K/F

4770k has served me well since 2013. It's chugging along with a 2070 super now. Ready for my new 12700k build this week!!!

Great CPU when it's GPU bound games, in Esport games i7-4770k really sucks now. My i7-4770k overclocked and get same one core benchmark as r5-1600x back in the day and I am on r5-5600x now and is not enough for me, need something like r7-7800x3d or at last r7-5800x3d

Spiele mit i7 4770k und gforce 1660oc ( vorher 660)
Oculus one 5g router und alles läuft ohne Kabel mit der 1660oc. Ab3r oberste Grenze und Skyrim VR ruckelt bei hoher Belastung ein bisschen. ( Drachenkämpfe zb)

so i guess at 8k we won't need CPU at all, throw any CPU and powerful GPU will get all the work done.
The problem is that GPUs are not powerful enough for high fps in 4K yet.
So if you play at 4k@60fps, you are still good with i7 4770k!

This benchmark is a trick, it is a lie. For example, on cyberpunk, I have better results with an i7 4770k + a GTX1070 than this benchmark with an i7 4770k + RTX3080!

bro, in gaming... CPU has nothing to do with resolution, its about the calculating positions, collisions and math like that... So it's pointless to test that out, this is a pretty unfair comparison
who the hell uses 4K to test cpus. The 12900 is bottlenecking the 3080, so this test is useless.
actually the 3080 is bottlenecking the 12700, and the 4770 was bottlenecking the 3080.
If you think the 3080 was bottlenecked in all the games, you need to understand how to read the metrics.
