What makes 'SUSPIRIA' so scary

In today's episode I wanted to quickly talk about one of my favorite movies of the giallo genre, Dario Argento's 1977 classic, SUSPIRIA.

Hi - really enjoying your content! One thing in regard to this video, which is otherwise excellent, is that Suspiria is not a giallo film. It seems over the past decade or two, the term giallo has come to be synonymous with any Italian film with bloody murder set-pieces. However, gialli are very specifically murder mysteries, generally a police procedural, without any overt supernatural elements. If you look further, there is a lot written out there on this very subject; Suspiria is a departure-point from gialli for Argento [to briefly return with Tenebre, and a few lesser films much later in his career].
