ngl I rly dislike when ppl bring up how ppl just say they have autism. as a self diagnosed autistic person there are a plethora of reasons why it is hard to get a diagnoses, such as there historically not being any research on how it presents in people who were socialized as women and people of color. Autistic ppl who were socialized as women often learn to mask their symptoms bc of the vitriol and societal expectations put upon them. Because of these even a lot of psychologists can miss signs in those socialized as women/poc. So there isn’t enough practitioners who are genuinely knowledgeable enough. There is also classism aspect of it. It’s an extremely long and expensive process that a lot of ppl don’t have access to. Most ppl who self diagnose have done a buttload of research and have peer reviews from other diagnosed autistic ppl. as someone who is high masking (of my autistic traits bc it’s not acceptable in society) I have gotten so much dismissiveness abt me thinking im autistic and this just feels like ppl perpetuating that. Yeah of course some ppl might be making it up or misdiagnosing themselves but that is comparatively a small number.
I agree, even the accuracy rate on autism self-diagnosis is 75-80%. So in that case, autistic adults and teens looking for resources to confirm whether it's likely they have autism is more so benefitting the autistic community than taking away from it. It's good to do this deep introspection so you actually know what to say and what evidence to give when you walk in for your autism diagnosis when/if you're able to get one. I'm also a self-diagnosed autistic person, and my whole adolescence I was a self-diagnosed person with ADHD until I finally got diagnosed officially last month. And I couldn't have known what symptoms and experiences to report without doing all this extensive research and going through so many forum posts. It all paid off. I wish people would be more open-minded. I also think most self-diagnosed people are aware that they're not 100% sure yet and that they're not medical/therapy professionals. A few bad apples looking to manipulate others by claiming to be autistic yet not doing the research shouldn't represent everyone.
Never been to your shows, Gianmarco, but every description you give of them makes me think it's 5 people sitting there on their phones emotionless, then the club throws 3 peanuts at you after your show as payment, and someone comes and takes a crap on your merch table
20:25 Gianmarco asking for clarification on Sicilian/Italian/Argentine: Gianmarco does not understand the extent to which Italians just ... can become Argentines simply by moving there. You gotta understand how much Italian culture is just baked-in to Argentine culture, esp. in the 20th century. Over 60% of Argentines have some amount of Italian ancestry...
People seem to have full on dementia about the Americas. They understand how people can be from anywhere else and become United Statesians….. And somehow DO NOT PROCESS the exact same thing can happen anywhere else, but also DID HAPPEN with exactly as many people and many many more throughout the Americas.
As far as he was worried that he'd suck on the episode, I still liked it! It was different from a lot of other episodes, but that's how it is! All the guests bring their personalities.
Two of my favorite comedians, and Gianmarco was so supportive and reassuring!! 🥰 the perfect follow up to the Honeydew guest spot👌 this completely cancels out my trip to the ER last week! (It was a short trip.)
Nah, MJ, you seem chill af. Just the fact you brought up that knowledge = knowing you don't know means I like you more than ~88% of other guests I've seen (not here) in passing...
I googled the Black room comedian that I think you were referring to and found out he cheated on his Black (now ex) wife. I had grown sour on his need to reference his proximity to Blackness.
It's so surreal to hear you talk about black rooms. Somehow I've been listening to your podcast for a year and frequent this page daily, but I didn't even consider that you did those comedy rooms.

Thank you for saying that!!!

Two of my favorite goofy guys doing a pod? nothing can beat that!

Audio is _so_ much better. Thanks!
Aw I thought “it kinda just came to me one night” was hilarious 😭 it made me lol
Nice shirt! Love the pod. Commenting for the algorithm gods. ✌️
Disappointed Gianmarco didn’t have his short shorts on today. Luckily Morgan jay came through
LA really changes people smh
what a time to release the episode XD
We need a distraction!
The horse is in the hospital. Again.
This is the podcast episode I never knew I was waiting for 😂😂😂
So many patrons! Happy to see how well the podcast is doing! 😄
I always find the best comics on your pod. Great episode. Morgan kind of reminds me of Justin Baldoni (Rafael from Jane the Virgin).
Thank god there's something to take my mind off "the terrible troubles"

his grandparents were definitely facists. but that’s everybody’s grandparents these days

Two favourites in a frame ❤
Yay! ❤🎉
I enjoyed this a lot! Felt short!
@51:20 They are talking about Gary Owens. But Micheal Rappaport also loves to pander and appropriate Black culture.
Morgan Jay, you should know that this is up
1:17:30 The move is just send it to them without saying and just watch their reaction
legit subscribed to Morgan and Galapagos around the same time and i still be getting them mixed up sometimes.
1:10:40 if you're making $20.00 and they give you an extra $0.01, that's actually only (0.01/20.00* 100.00) = 0.05 % more
You know what people say about him 😅😅😂😂😂
That is the gayest shirt I have ever seen and I love it so much!
I don't see video for this on spotify desktop or phone app. Sure it is working? Video works for me for other podcasts.
There's a technical issue with uploading video there at the moment, but we'll get it up asap!
I'm hoping he's right about the election!
Sexy new set!
Gianmarco, i am a female with very little hairs down there, AND I NEED THE BABY WIPES. PLZ JUST TRY IT ONCE ❤ 1:30:36
COWARD!! TELL ME WHO THE COOKOUT GUY IS!!! Tell me what rhymes with his name, ty.
