I had all the hardware combos, Fantom, Motif, Kronos, Moog, etc. to be honest now I use my 2nd PC laptop as a rack module using Roland Cloud, Korg Cloud, Arturia etc. then using external processing of the audio to recording the audio to my main PC desktop, now the VST Korg Triton and Roland JV sound punchy like using the real hardware, you can't tell the difference. You can get more creative, like getting a Moog - MF-101 Lowpass Filter for example and run all the Vst's like DIVA, Serum, Sylenth1 etc. trough it to get that nice analog warm sound. etc., basically all you need is 1 or 2 nice hardware fx pedals and run all your vst's trough it.
Hey man, nice setup!!! I think the best part is that you have it setup for your personal workflow and what makes sense to you...! I would say as far as buying synth... You thinking mono or poly? I would say for mono... A Moog Voyager. For poly, I would say a Moog One, but a couple of contenders to look at would be Arturia Matrixbrute. Or Sequential Circuit's Prophet 6.... I'm probably the worst person to ask, because yes, Gear Acqisition Syndrome IS REAL!!!! And I've lost the fight years ago...😂 And then it eventually ends up turning into Gear Paralysis!😵💫😳
Oooooh Gear paralysis. Yeah I’m trying to avoid that. So I ordered a Fantom X6 because I have tons of sessions for it and I know it. I am looking at its companion, the Roland V-Synth, but one more synth will be added down the line and the sequential unit sounds like a good contender or something from Waldorf. I have a few Moog emulations so I might skip it. All of your suggestions are great ones.
BSS Soundweb London Blu-326. I’ve been debating switching them out though just because I’m starting to have some DRIVER issues because they’re a little bit older and I’m having to use them backwards compatible scenarios to get it to work with the new macOS.
That's a shame about the headphone mixing. My kids love my double 18" cabs running on almost 12k of amplifiers. If you want to try to produce club music it's nice to know what it's actually going to sound like in a club.
I’m not so worried about having the speaker set up as my primary monitoring scenario because my room is not treated and I’m a certified Audio engineer so I’m not that worried about mixing in the headphones. The headphones are use. I can get the reference of the sound and it’s always correct. And I’ve been doing music for a while over 25 years. Started as a DJ when I was 16 and got into the music industry in my early 20s, so I definitely know what all of that is supposed to sound like. Once the space is treated correctly, then I’ll start using the speakers more often and I do use it to just hear a reference of the sound when they’re at school during the day.

Finally someone understands what I'm trying to do.
I'm loving the passion you have for all the details of sound engineering
Thank you sir!
Nice setup, cool to see the mpc in the process
It’s been interesting going back to hardware.
As for the synthesizer, be true to what works for you.

@PetrolMediaInc ...🙏🏾 Don't forget about rule #1. Have Fun 1st.!!!
Very nice setup! What model are the BSS units and how do they hook up to the computer? I’m looking for something similar

I'm having "GAS" right now lol. I have a MPC X and Key 61 but the Key 37 is looking awfully good right now.
Fight it. Fight it!!!!!!!!!!
@@PetrolMediaInc 😂 Ok 👍
@@40EastTrill honestly for me now it’s about having a few different ways to create music as quickly as possible while keeping the mix solid.
akai mpc 61 and the got 37 key coming real soon
Nice. Let me Know how you like it.
