@@bookswithcheryl Hi, Cheryl! Glad you enjoyed the video! 😊 I had fun choosing the books to include, but I quickly realized that I probably could make a hundred videos like this one highlighting the various themes and series that make up the cozy book genre! 😂 Part 2 (Cozy Books in Many Genres) & Part 3 (Cozy NonFiction Books) are coming soon. 📚📚📚 Looks like I need to check out your cozy new channel, too! ❤️
They all sound like cozy books to enjoy on a cold night. Mother of Cozy Mysteries! I like that. I want to say that I've heard of The River In The Sky? Now you have me wanting to read a Cozy mystery! Thank you -James
Hi Kim, I just finished a self published cozy, Murder she fried by Carol Novis, tension on a pension series. I have to be really interested in the characters and theme when I read a cozy. I like what she said about York city having small town vibes. It sure did when I lived there. I knew people who never left Brooklyn to go to Manhattan. They acted like it was another state.😊. Thank you for all the book suggestions in the genre. Aloha friend.
@@MarilynMayaMendoza I *love* the name of that series - Tension on a Pension! Too funny! 😂 Yes, that's what I've heard about NYC from friends who live there, and the Cleo Coyle series definitely has that feel. And when it comes to the cozy mysteries I read, I'm with you - they really need to have interesting characters and themes!
Oh what fun! I love a cozy mystery and am having fun with them. Am challenging myself to collect loads of series and want to try and get them all from charity shop finds. Yes, there has been an explosion of this genre and some just seem like fluff if you know what i mean. I need to read Elizabeth Peters, that book sounds fab! What an awesome list and eagerly awaiting more!
@@Bookishtravels1 Hi, Julie! Yes, there are just so many cozy mystery series - definitely something for everyone. Peters' Amelia Peabody series is incredibly fun and interesting! I highly recommend it. 😊
@@bookswithamymarie Thanks, Amy! Yes, Jeffrey Cohen is a very funny writer. He has several series under different pen names - all different vibes, but all good fun. ☺️
I remember reading those Elizabeth Peters (Amelia Peabody) books many, many years ago! Would be fun to reread them. Unfortunately, they are long gone. Fun listening to your book chat. 💕
Hi, Angela! 🙋♀️ The Amelia Peabody books are still so popular, so I'm sure you can borrow them from the library! I've actually picked up a few duplicate sets of them from used bookstores over the years to give to some of my kids. They enjoy them, too! 😊
I stumbled on the cozy series called "Christmas River Cozy Series" by Meg Muldoon. It's very similar to "Meet the Baker" in that it's in a small town and the main female character is a baker with a pie shop!! I recently read #10 in the series and loved it, so I'm going to catch up on it. I think there are 14 books in total. I will look into the one you mentioned by Ellie Alexander!
@@coffee_cookies_books Hi, Judy! 🙋♀️ There are so many cozy mystery series! I hadn't heard of this one by Meg Muldoon, but as it's set in a year-round Christmas town, *and* it's on KU, I definitely want to check it out. You never know what you'll find until you try! Thanks for sharing! 😊
@@WildHeartsandWildflowers It is set in a town with the name "Christmas" but not all of the stories occur in that timeframe. I read some of the other book synopsis' and realized that, which was a smart thing for the author to do :)
@@coffee_cookies_books Interesting! Thanks for sharing! Yes, I read a description somewhere of the series' town (Christmas River) which made it sound like the town's shops and main tourism comes from its Christmas theme, but it makes sense that the different books will take place at various times of the year and, therefore, not focus on the Christmas holiday. I noticed #11 is Halloween-themed with a horror writer in residence. Sounds like one you might really enjoy!
@@WildHeartsandWildflowers I would definitely love that. I just picked up book 1 and am planning to work my way through them but at least #10 is done LOL
