Wow came out the exact same way and same timeline except I didn't come out to people in university in first year! Same experience with friends and family though! I feel just as lucky as you expressed!
Im 14 and live in the Caribbean but I have come out to most of my friends but not my Family and they are very accepting and really just don't care, its not what defines me and they see that. It really suprised me though because its practically illegal where I live to be gay..
@MrMusiclover41 I'm 14 and I just came out of the closet. Personally, I was very lucky because I'm from Toronto and we're very accepting. But if you live in america i'd advise to wait.

So glad everything worked out for Colin. He sounds like a really great guy.
I'm glad your family was very accepting of you. My Mom had struggled with it, but now is fine with it.

Thank you for sharing your story Colin, and best wishes for your future happiness.
Thanks for sharing in such a clear, to the point, and brief manner. Your video will help other people in the same situation.
Congrats Colin and welcome to the family!
I'm glad he shared his story =3
I too wanted to do that myself by going away to college out of state, but that never worked out.

You GO boy :-) Thanks for being a great role model for young people who are gay and need to know they're not alone.
adorable !
Great video. I did not come out until I was 58.
pretty cool that he wants to share his story so that other gay people who wants to come out, wouldn't feel so intimidated. he's a great man.
oh my god he is so beautiful!
Coming Out to my parents was the most terrifying thing I have ever done. Mom knew; she, uh, foreshadowed to Dad.
what an accepting family

There are cities in the U.S. that are as LGBT-friendly as Toronto, if not more.
We have the same name!!!! So few people only have one 'L' in their names XD
