This is interesting in theory. However in real life those A10s would have Fox2s and that Mig wouldn't stand a chance.

The A10 envelope in this game is an expected ground attack mode. The AI pilots are not really written with dog fighting at it's core and they perform as expected. By reducing their speed there would be little chance you could draw a bead. As you over run them they could reverse and get off a long shot at you from their turning attitude. They also don't display any kind of wing man performance. Now a MIG-15 vs a M-17 would be interesting.
Very true. I wish I could change this to make them more competitive because I do think they could be. I am planning a fight with Fox-2's vs. the MiG-15 and I think they will kick my ass hahaha. Stay tuned for February.
Neither should it be? AI or not, A-10 isn't configured or expecting air to air encounters other than targets of opportunity (drones, helos) or self defense.
A-10 has incredible turn radius for a jet because of the slow speed, wing area, stability. But A-10 has horrid energy retention due to the wing, bad TWR, so it will NOT maintain that deg''/per sec tight turning in protracted one/two circle dogfights. Adding to the fact A-10 just CANNOT climb at all, its defenses rely solely on a tight turn radius, it can't keep up
I think a more proper fight would be with SU-25 or Dornier Alpha, VS the MiG-15.
A10 can fly missing a stabilizer section 1 engine and 25% of a wing and loaded with 1700 rounds of 30 mil

Ya I agree that in real life 2 A-10's should be able to cover each other long enough to protect from a MiG-15. I'll be doing a fight in about a month where I give the A-10's fox-2's. Pretty sure they will destroy me!
The A-10 dogfighting potential is hugely exaggerated. Turn radius this, turn radius that. And Fox 2 missiles. Okay, first of all, the turn radius A-10 is so wonderfully known for, isn't sustained turn radius. The thing bleeds SO MUCH energy in turning, that the deg/per sec turning degenerates in protracted one or two circle. It just cant climb either and the TWR is so bad. Turn radius doesn't govern fights. Its one element to add to the arsenal, but cant solely be relied on. Time and time again, turn radius gets trumped in aerial combat when the opposition discovers that the opponent ONLY has that.
This is cool, refreshing to see migs win from time to time. Do more of this please
