Brilliant sir! Laughed as you mentioned the "old school" distance in feet, as I happened to have a USA "Export" model Autocord on the desk in front of me at the moment. I love these style old rangefinders, with the Konica IIIA being my personal favorite, with a viewfinder/rangefinder I consider superior to the M2/M3. Cheers.

I would echo the comment of others in that you have a great eye for a balanced composition. The Taron, which I’ve never heard of, delivers excellent images which are clear and pin sharp.

Love these walkabout videos you do with, yet, another potential gem you've picked up. Regarding the Sunny 16 rule, after many years of testing all speeds of B&W film with a densitometer, I agree that f/11 at 1/ISO is much closer to being the correct exposure; even in the REALLY bright sunlight over here in the desert southwest, USA.

Very nice photography, Martin. That camera was a good find. It is amazing that after nearly 65 years the rangefinder calibration and shutter speeds are still accurate. A few montha ago, I bought a Kiev 4M. It is a Soviet copy of the Contax-II. It is the usual USSR build quality, heavy, rugged, rough and quirky, but it does produce amazing negatives. I have to honest, it is a nuiverse behind my trio of M2, M3 and M6 in build quality and engineering, but it didn't cost an arm and a leg and a few fingers on top. The ones that I really enjoy using are my Olympus RC and RD. Superb cameras to carry around. Thanks you.

Splendid results indeed! There seem to be a number of these fixed lens Japanese rangefinders from this period, which fly under the radar and are good value. I had a very similar camera which rejoiced the name of the Beauty Lightomatic iii. The better known Konica S2 or the Canon Canonet range are still good value. I only sold the Beauty as I have a Canonet QL 17, which I slightly preferred to it. If you can manage without different lenses, they're very capable cameras.

Great video. I picked up a later model from a car boot sale with a 45mm f2.8 and broken every-ready case, only £10. No Nippon script just Taron Co Ltd. It's in my pile of cameras to be looked at as the viewfinder patch is very faint. Might move it up the list after seeing your photographs. Many thanks.

Wonderful video. It's just amazing how an unseamingly old camera can produce such great photos. I hope it inspires more to go for the rangefinder experience. If you are into the rangefinder way of photography, it is indeed a very rewarding experience in more ways. I have a couple of vintage rangefinders, which I bought mainly for their good looks and reputation like a Ricoh and a Minolta, and my daily camera is a Leica M. I will never swap it for an SLR.
Enjoyed learning about the history of the camera and such lovely photo's.
I have the Yashica Minister 700 rangefinder Martin, I got it serviced over at Newton Ellis and it works a treat. The lightmeter works but I tend to pop the Doomo S meter on the cold shoe and use that. I guess the overall cost including the service is about £175 which I think is very good value. It will outlive me I suspect 😁

A Canon V series at that price has to be one of the best eBay scores ever. I purchased a Konica Auto S2 that I was told was fully working, and it’s fully NOT working. Still waiting for my refund weeks later lol. Sensational images, congrats.

Nice! Another film guy! I’d love to find a range finder camera too. I have three Canon RF (one is Autofocus) I do need to process my own film. Custom lab developing is $$$$
Funnily enough, I just put a roll of film through one of those cameras. I haven't processed the film yet, but I'm fairly hopeful of reasonable results. I also have a Taron Auto EE to test.

What a quality little camera, I believe they were sold in Holland as a Fodor! Great results too Martin. Do you happen to have or tried a Zorki 4K? I had one many years back and found it to be an amazing rangefinder camera.
I have a Zorki, owned a Leica M3, the zorki viewfinder is better IMHO

I have mixed up some 'PYROCAT HD' Part A and Part B -- still 'experimenting' with it ! You get such wonderful 'Tones' in your B&W prints. Do you find PYRO CAT HD gives a speed increase or 'Box Speed' ??

Awesome camera and video as usual, only what's up with the blurred background when you were shooting the bridge over the river? Was someone answering mother nature's calling and didn't see you there with your cameras? All in all it sure looked like a wonderful day!

Just when I got my GAS sorted along comes another camera I don't have!! It sure would give any expensive overpriced camera a run for its money. Beautiful pin sharp photos with your superb eye for composition. The lighter fluid is ok but only a temporary fix. Normally after 50-60 years the grease in the focus becomes stiff and works into the aperture blades and shutter blades effectively gluing the blades together. Forcing the aperture blades will brake them. The only true way is to do a complete service and I highly recommend Chris Sherlock's channel on his mostly Kodak retina repairs. I love taking these shutters to pieces and rebuilding them and have just finished two retina iiic cameras which work like a dream now. I've had the same outcome with sellers not knowing much about the camera and to keep there status have given me the camera with a full refund. If anyone would like there camera serviced please send me a message. I'm in France so not sure if you'll get hit by the Brexit taxes and duty.
