The second movie literally reuses the same exact plot and so many flash backs from the first movie that you don't even need to see the first movie to know what happens in it. Also the way they kill the main villain in the first movie has some terrible CGI that did not age well. But it is an opportunity for "Super easy, barely an inconvenience" cause he's suppose to be an unstoppable blood God at that point and then he's literally stopped with barely any effort.

If you watch the scene with him on the table and his eyes opening, you can see something looks weird with his eyes. I noticed this back in the day before I ever heard about the dispute but didn't pay it much attention other than wondering why his eyes looked weird. I was hoping that Ryan (George not Reynolds) would address the multiple endings shot for this movie since it had such a troubled production. Wesley Snipes also wasn’t giving 100% in this one. Some of his lines were clearly ADR’d. Still a fun pitch meeting, just wish we could’ve delved a little deeper into the behind the scenes stuff.

fun fact: the vampires in Trinity all use light sources in dark rooms, even though vampires made fun of Whisper in Blade 2 for not being able to see in the dark. It's also like the second time Whistler has been killed.

Writer/director David Goyer needed biker boudyguards to protect him from Snipes, so yeah, not a happy shoot.

fun fact: the vampires in Trinity all use light sources in dark rooms, even though vampires made fun of Whisper in Blade 2 for not being able to see in the dark. It's also like the second time Whistler has been killed.

I enjoyed the fact that Whistler was killed twice in this series. When he first shows up after dying a second time I figured they just brought him back again with no explaination
They killed him six or seven times in deleted scenes.

This plot could have been 10x better if Whistler made the Nighstalkers as a backup in case Blade went rogue, and they leaned heavily into that.
On the sneaking into the hideout as Whistler point, Whistler comes back every time after he's killed. His allies probably thought he got better

Minor quibble: since THE MATRIX cribbed a LOT from the aesthetic of the first BLADE, the whole "swipe from THE MATRIX" thing was a deliberate jab at the Wachowskis
They came out a year apart, pretty sure that was just the product of the time
Since both were likely being produced at the same time, it's a safer bet that both were pulling influence from The Crow.
