_(Reposted comment from a similar video)_ Indeed, the A22 5G's main camera has serious autofocus issues, made worse when EIS is activated (Video stabilization in settings). It seems the only way of fixing the autofocus problem is by not using the autofocus at all. That is, switch to manual focusing & all the random blurring will go away. So, how to do that? That's easy. Simply tap anywhere on the preview to force the camera to focus on the chosen subject. A focus ring with a lock icon & exposure slider will appear on the tapped area. Immediately tap on the lock icon before the focus ring disappears. Voila! The camera is now in manual focus mode. This trick is most useful when EIS is turned on, because as mentioned, autofocus seems to go crazy when that is in play. The EIS' stabilization performance isn't very strong though, so pairing this phone with a motorized gimbal or mechanical stabilizer is the only thing that can effectively minimize shaky footage. The downsides of this workaround however, is that repeated refocusing will most likely be necessary because subjects usually won't be still while shooting. Also, the exposure unfortunately gets locked alongside the focus, so if the camera transitions to a scene with darker or brighter lighting, then that part of the video will be under- or over-exposed, respectively. Clearly, this hack is unsustainable. Unfortunately, there's no other solution for this other than using a different camera app that has the ability to change focus mode. One such app is the excellent Open Camera application. Among its many features is its different focus modes, with the manual focus mode being of interest here. Simply select that & adjust the focus distance slider to the desired length and there should be no more autofocus issues. Now, because the camera has been disabled from focusing on subjects at different distances, it becomes desirable to have as deep of a depth of field as possible. Luckily, the A22 5G seems to be able to achieve this when setting the focus distance to around 1.00m or so. Play with this setting to figure out the optimal distance for one's needs. Unlike the A22 5G's stock camera app, Open Camera's focus mode setting is fortunately separate from its exposure setting, so the focus can be set to fixed while exposure is still automatic. Now, as for the atypical 2K recording capability of the A22 5G, don't bother with it. It doesn't look like it improves video quality even by just a bit. The customizable video bitrate setting exposed by Open Camera doesn't seem to help either. The culprit is probably overly aggressive noise reduction that crushes fine detail even before the video stream reaches the encoding stage, so no amount of resolution upscaling or bitrate adjustment is going to improve the mediocre video quality. This is just conjecture though and not experimentally verified. The A22 5G is clearly not oriented towards videography. It does capture decent enough photos but its video capabilities just plain suck. Fortunately, there's still a way to rescue it from total disaster.
@@DariuszTech Thank you for your fast response. I really appreciate that. If that is the case, then, I think this phone is what I needed.
