Blew ny mind seeing Razamanaz at number 10....wow! Speaking of which...I found a really cool Razamanaz tee on teepublic yesterday. NO---i am NOT affiliated---just sharing.
It’s really something that Elton John released both Don’t Shoot Me I’m Only the Piano Player AND Goodbye Yellow Brick Road in the same year. His output of music in the early to mid 70s was incredible.
Thanks for not overlooking the Best rock band of the 70's-Grand Funk Railroad No one else who does lists seems to know they were killing record sales and concert seatsin the early 70's just as much as Zeppelin and Sabbath
Totally agree with you. Grand funk with a capital letter professionals. And in my opinion, Grand Funk is an underrated band. Thanks for comment!🎸🥁✌️✌️✌️
@@rockforever755apparently you grew up in that year to have this kind of knowledge. I knew this would be good when I saw the progressive rock selections. KSHE 94.7 St Louis Missouri is where I got my start.. there will never be another era again like early 1970s real rock radio on your fm dial😊
You know I would have had Brain Salad Surgery higher but that's okay because this was a great list. A very rare treat indeed compared to most of these crap lists that are out there. I was happy to see nectar and Foghat on there as well. Without a doubt 1973 was the best a great year to grow up with FM radio and progressive rock being at its peak😊 thank you😊
@@rockforever755 I don't doubt it like I said before you're good. You have one of the most comprehensive list I've ever seen so that would put you in the almost as good as me category. I grew up on late 1960s early 1970s underground and progressive rock radio. If I may make a suggestion you need the greatest Emerson Lake and Palmer list after all they were the best musicians they were the standard for that. Furthermore I would recommend some rare bird, armageddon, gypsy, dust and bloodrock. If not a list at least some mention. I scanned your Channel's content and was unable to locate any of the aforementioned. If I missed anything my bad however like I said in the past you are very knowledgeable so I guess I would just wonder if you're doing this by yourself are you have help. Just professional courtesy thanks.:-)
Very glad to see Nektar on here. I would have put them in the top 5.. or One! LOL Masterpiece album. Like.... taking a trip, back in time... No drugs needed either.
@PaoloPerini-e3k how people say they are rockers but never heard this album blows my mind. One of the greatest guitarist of all time. And his best purveyor
Great list! Idk if you listen stuff in spanish, but another great one from that year is Artaud by Pescado Rabioso, peak of sudamerican progressive rock. For recommendation!
Queen's debut may sound like Sabbath and Zeppelin had a baby, but its quite great really. I think they really hit their stride with Queen II, but its a nice hard rock album that was pretty promising. Also great ranking! I have no complaints about the order, because to me its just nice seeing zeppelin, floyd, and everyone else included.
I don't agree. My favs are: 1 Neil Young - Time Fades Away Time Fades Away is fantastically sloopy. Love in Mind is beautiful. Don't be Denied (Neil perserveres). 9.5 2 The Move - Split Ends Jeff Lynn and Roy Wood. The Great "Chinatown" / Do Ya and "I'll be over "Tonight". Good: Down on the Bay. California Man. Maybe every song is at least good. Very ignored record. 9.5 3 Springsteen - The Wild, the Innocent, the E Street Shuffle Not a Boss idolizer at all; I just usually like a couple of songs on each album but this has plenty of good songs. 9 4 Steely Dan - Countdown to Ecstasy Bodhisattva, Show Biz Kids, My Old School. 9 5. Roxy Music - Stranded.

Your comment makes no sense. Bowie was appreciated by critics, audiences and musicians. Not only of his time, but of all generations. People decide what they like. "Aladdin Sane" was number 1 for 5 weeks in the UK. "Pin Ups" was also number 1 for 5 weeks. These albums were also extremely influential on many musicians in the Punk and New Wave scene. His quality and legacy is proven when you see the significance, Bowie is considered an icon and his legend continues to impact new generations. If YOU personally don't like it, that's up to you, it's just your opinion.
Thank you for including Styx' Serpent Is Rising!! Love that album!
Thanks for putting in all that work!
A great year to be a freshman in High School.
Glad you included Montrose. To this day it’s one of my favorite hard rock albums.

"rock bottom" is wonderful, but it was release in 1974
The Táin - Horslips
Focus 3 - Focus
Renaissance Ashes Are Burning.
"Lark"s Tongues in Aspic" - 50???
Great list....but did i miss Alice Cooper Muscle of Love!?
Maybe!!!🤔
No Slade?
I was a Slade fan at the time. Slade did not release a studio album in 1973. So they obviously cannot appear here.
