What really hurts is that we lost the cl and then gave up. Liverpool lost the cl and became stronger and won it, as they did the league. We’ve never gone from strength to strength, just strength to stand still. Everything about the club is investment first, football second.

Great stuff Brian, its tough, fans are desperate for success and not everyone can see a pathway there, based on the signings. What i would say is Ange's previous success comes from a defined , aggressive, risky system with each position having certain requirements. The data approach is identifying those players, they may not necessarily be world class, but they fulfil the requirements of that way of playing. The club is clearly backing that, both with cash and risking fan backlash. I think its bold, risky if you will, but they have a plan. Many will disagree with the plan, many unsure, many all in, but the fact they are commited to an idea and are going for it, takes balls and should be admired.

Wait until the season is over to make an assessment on recruitment and performance. The same people last year complained and the club finished 5th and unearthed some futures superstars. Spain won the euros with a 16 and 21 year old in their forward line. Everyone knows better but none of these “experts” have ever worked or managed a premier league club.

The problem is spurs fans don’t know what success looks like. So no matter what the club does, it looks new and foreign to fans and that looks scary. No one can do anything right atm. But who knows what right is. Settle down and get on for the ride. Maybe stop to smell the roses and enjoy the journey.

Nothing is right at this club. If not for the fans that can see the faults and origin and call it out, like Dagul here and Stel and Savva etc, I would be done with it.
