To anyone wondering the LOCATION of the fuel filter, it may not be on the same side of the gas cap. I fixed a 2000 Lincoln Town Car and it was on the opposite side of where the gas cap is. Under the back passenger seat. But then my truck's filter is on the gas cap side
My mother in law has a 2000 Lincoln, it wont start, the engine just keeps turning over and over, plus, I don't smell any gas when I pump the accelerator, could the filter or line be clogged?
If Im not mistaken (and I might be because its been awhile)...if you take one end off before the other, gas wont come out as bad, can keep most in filter. I dont know if thats a directional pressure thing or if Im even correct at all, but could have swore I heard that somewhere. And hey guy...thank you.
My car turns off when i put it in drive or reverse or when i press da brake and sometimes when i give it gas it loses power feels like when u run out of gas. Do u think is da fuel filter or fuel pump?
if a car that was running in the same day gets it's fuel filter replaced, how much fuel is going to shoot out or are there other precautions to take before removing?
the only thing I had to say is the focus on your camera for the sake of seeing you back the ends off with the screwdriver seeing as how the other styles use a special tool
I just replaced the fuel filter on my 2001 Lincoln Town Car, and it was too easy. No - you do not need the fuel filter disconnect tool. This video is a great example of how to replace a fuel filter on this model.
Looks like inlet line is kinked. That could hinder fuel flow. It must have been installed that way at the factory. I would replace that hose with a longer one so you can loop it and eliminate the restriction.
Dude, how was yours so effortless? Mine's stuck on there like a motherfucker. I pulled with every bit of strength I had an couldn't get my lines off there. I even bought a set of Lisle fuel line quick disconnect tools and it just won't come off. How come you didn't use the special tool for this job? All Fords have quick disconnect fuel line connections. What am I missing or doing wrong?
Consider yourself lucky I pulled mine real hard and broke the fuel line. Just take yours to shop and pay eighty to a hundred it's well worth it if you can't get it off
Apparently he lives in a area without snow and road salt. The filter is not rusted up with the plastic O-ring retainer welded to the steel tube in the connectors. I had to cut the end connectors off and buy a couple of Dorman fuel line repair kits with end connectors for Fords. Those have 5/16 inch connector for the fuel filter tube and a 3/8 inch heat shrink plastic tube for connecting to the car's steel fuel lines. I spent hours on this before I figured out what I had to do. I found one Dorman 800-063 ($20 plus tax) at one parts store in town and another at another parts store - apparently not a fast moving item. Unfortunately these have straight end connectors while the car had 90 degree end connectors. It looks like Dorman has 90 degree end connectors with which you could fabricate your own end connectors with plastic heat shrink hose but neither part store carried that and Dorman's catalog online seems impossible to use - it just wants to give you information for a specific car. It would have to have 5/16 inch connectors for the fuel filter and 3/8 inch for the hose. (for GM it is just the opposite, 3/8 inch for the fuel filter and 5/16 inch for the hose) Dorman sells a fuel line repair assortment set costing over $250, for the professional mechanic. I bent the fuel line tubing around on the car and the fuel filter sets in its protective basket at an angle. Not pretty but it works. You can use a tool to release the quick connectors. There is a plastic clip that snaps shut behind the little flange on the fuel filter. I am not sure if the Dorman's clip is the same as the original. If you buy a Carquest fuel filter it comes with 4 clips. Motorcraft does not come with clips and costs $5 more.
I mean im no car wizard but for the people complaining its a bad video because he didnt show the location.. is it really that hard to get on your hands and knees and look under your car to try and figure it out? Sheesh loll
I was more trying to find when the video actually starts. As a fellow UA-camr, having to skip through unrelated content to get to the actual content is annoying.
I mean he didnt show how he got there. I found mine on my own. He should start at the begining, approaching the car from right passanger side. Whatever

so if I do this myself I don't need the full filter disconnect tool?

he said he just did the fuel pump so there won't be much gas. what do do to relieve the pressure if you haven't just "done the fuel pump"
Where is it located i have a 2001 Lincoln tower car
I feel like my fuel line has a lot of run off. I flipped the fuel switch up and still a lot of run off

He prolly got it off before making video then barely put it on to make it seem easy

everything is fine but you didn`t show or tell the location of the fuel filter on the car, can you tell please?
+Eitan Mizrahy He definitely states where it was located... did you not watch the video??

Follow the fuel line from the gas tank and you'll find it.
Turn that auto focus off holy bad video!
+Kris Chupp I know, right? I couldn't see anything.
This is bad video because you don't show where the fuel filter is, and i couldn't locate it. So i'm disappointed.
