@@imcringe3441 Unless he didn’t know who did it because maybe Owen never told Don he was married, and maybe Don knew Owen as Owen and knew nothing about his actual identity. Plus I’m sure he would be the number 1 suspect. Kinky stuff was very taboo back then, not to mention he was in a sexual relationship with another male, he would be questioned on how he knew Owen, the relationship between the two, and if Don knew he was married he would have to explain why his wife would want to have such a thing done to him which means he would have to out himself and put himself in danger during a very unaccepting time in history. The fact they met in a hotel room rather than at Don’s house tells me one or both of them were fearful about being found out as a gay male. Plus if they were in a kinky relationship the fact that Don (who I’m assuming was the dom) was most likely hurting Owen would’ve looked incredibly bad on him regardless of the fact Owen consented. It’s also possible Don accidentally or even purposely killed Owen and didn’t want to come forward for it for multiple very obvious reasons. To me the fact his wife sent flowers to his funeral but never claimed her husband although Owen’s mother did eventually claim him, and as far as I’m aware Owen’s wife didn’t come to the funeral, is very suspicious of her. It’s always possible that she already had found out about her husband’s affair(s) with men and was too upset to go to his funeral but still cared for him, or maybe the darker option, she was still in love with him but the fact he didn’t love her back and was gay so she got someone to kill him like her brother or maybe her brother did it on his own out of anger for his sister and because Owen was gay.

You have to remember this was considered an extremely nice hotel of the time and that service standards were higher. It’s not too far fetched that they checked on him a few times.

But also people realize that a door locking from the outside doesn't mean the person inside was trapped, right? It was certainly just like a front door doorknob where you can lock it from the inside or use the key to lock it when you're outside. It works both ways lol, they just didn't have keycards yet. All hotel doors used to do this and crappy ones still do.

Guys, all hotel doors lock from the outside. Otherwise, once you left the room, you'd have no way of locking it and anybody could just walk in as they pleased.
The door was locked from the outside meaning someone had left and locked it, but that didn't result in Artemus being locked inside. Just like you can today, you can always unlock a hotel room door from the inside.
I think they mean as in for most hotels when you're leaving your hotel room you turn on the lock from the inside and then shut the door. But you don't lock from the outside if that makes sense.
Yeah, but you *can't* lock it from the outside in any hotel. Otherwise people could just walk by and lock your door all the time and you'd be locked inside, like they're suggesting could happen. Hotel doors don't lock from the outside in ways that can't be unlocked from the inside.
