I started knowing about Rick Mercer in high school in I believe 2015. My history teacher showed us a rant of his, and it was one of the best rants I have heard in my life, and I needed to know who he was. After watching episodes of Rick Mercer Report on CBC, he was just an amazing, funny, and kind-hearted person that every Canadian should admire. Honestly, he is one of the icons of Canadian television, and your life wouldn't be complete in Canada unless you watched some of Rick Mercer Report. I'm sad to now know that his show has ended, but I always go back and watch the clips that are still there, and still amazed to this day about how interesting and amazing his content is. You could watch it for years and never get bored of it :)
Rick has done this country a great service, he is what out politicians and leaders should be, a great person.
So very sad. I will miss seeing the show & am thankful we will be able to pull episodes from the web. Rick kept me smiling & gave me my Canada fixes whenever I was far from home. All the best in your next adventures & I hope they somehow include us again someday!
I will miss your quirky humour, your ability to meet and relate to politicians of every stripe, your tendency to mock them without rancor, even getting them to participate !

Too bad Rick is ending his run. This is such a good show and he has a marvelous sense of humor. Rick's belief in trying to right the wrongs is so uplifting. I never miss his show. Makes me wish I lived in Canada!

Rick Mercer Report was iconic. I've seen the majority of his episodes and was entertained by his quick wit and personality to immerse the audience to everything he did and said. I will miss Rick's show when the final episode airs. Thank you for the laughs, good sir!

Could it be that the rules of T.V. land are changing? With more people streaming, the C.R.T.C. have come up with a few changes that may have had on an effect on the Rickster's thought process, like maybe signing on with Netflix with the added caveat of more available Canadian content....(...only available in Canada, you say??......Pity!)

DANG! I just found RMR on here a few weeks ago! So sad. But get leaving on his own terms. I used to be a TV cameraman in the field myself, so I understand the stress, schedule & work, etc. This "neighbor to the south" has learned a lot about Canada that I didn't know. I'm literally addicted to watching the clips so I guess I need to slow down and pace myself to stretch them out over time. I've probably been through almost 100 reports already. Good luck Rick...wherever you land.
Not to worry, Rick will eventually be back with a new show. Entertaining Canadians is part of his DNA.

A great canadian tv personalitys show is ending after 15 seasons and they have to bring up Trump. Can i go 5 minutes with out hearing about US politics.

Here is a bit of trivia for you. WHY DOES TRUMP RUBBISH THE NFL ? Well - - he tried to buy a team and couldn't. Then he bought a team in the "Spring Time League" USFL - which then tried to move to the Fall in competition. That was BLOCKED. Since then he has had a GRUDGE with the NFL. So his whole anti-kneeling thing is just a way of sticking a pin in the NFL for not accepting him as team owner years ago. Does he carry a grudge ??? Duhh - yeah. ( watch the ESPN 30 for 30 show on this one)
I am truly going to miss Rick Mercer's insight and commentary. America had Jon Stewart, we have Rick Mercer. Rick Mercer was funnier and united all Canadians. He represents the best of CBC.
I've never heard Jon Stewart be funny. Half decent actor I suppose. Rick Mercer is on another level with his witty humor.

Rick Mercer should take over Anthony Bourdain's show
Very sad event but he's had a great run from 22 minutes to this to who knows what else but you know its going to be great. He's ad a long run on tv. One good sub would have to be Mark Dice. The guys American and covers stories but he's entertaining to watch.

Have you ever watched Rick Mercer? Mark Dice is the antithesis of Rick Mercer. He is quite exactly the extreme opposite of Rick Mercer. there is absolutely no discernible connectivity or correlation between the two people, their thoughts, their personalities.... nothing.

Well I don't think you have seen the last of him :p I think he is going to run as a Liberal in the next election. The timing just about matches up with that. He has been a joy to watch either way. I might not have agreed with all of his points of view, but his positions where generally well founded. It is sad to see such a staple leave the scene. Its seldom you can find a political commentary that is so well respected on Conservative and Liberal sides.
Please just do the rant once a month....

I’m a transplanted Canadian, living in Scotland since 2003, and Norway for almost 4 years before that. I also have ties to Newfoundland, my father's side of the family. RMR is great for getting my Canada updates! Between RMR, and Republic of Doyle, my partner wants to move to Newfoundland!

So now, we have even more reason why the CBC should be severely defunded and made into a simple News Agency. It makes no sense, in the age of the internet, to fund this very controversial outfit that has showed itself unable to maintain a reasonably neutral and fair presentation. Left wing opinions should have the full rights and freedoms to be expressed, but not subsidized but the state. Canadians are among the best educated and creative in the world, they should be able to compete to start their own media businesses without facing undo competition from the CBC.
CBC consistently puts out the best content of any news or radio station in Canada. You're off your rocker if you think that they should be defunded because Mercer is leaving.
