  • Winter cycling gear can be quite expensive. With items you probably already own and a few key purchases, you can stay warm on the trail on cold winter days.
No items in this video were given to me. All were purchased with my own money and I have no affiliation with any brands mentioned.

Great ride on this beautiful winter day and good thoughts about the winter gare. I'm in Florida so no worries about winter gare here. Thanks for the video 👍

Merino wool for base layer. Cotton base layer is terrible because it's just going to stay soaked when you sweat.

But, if you've layered properly you shouldn't sweat so much that you soak the cotton shirt. And, Merino wool shirts kinda break the budget. If you can afford that, good on ya. I'm much more frugal.

@@RoaminLama Could be true as well, so then I think the biggest factor is how much you're sweating and exerting yourself to begin with. And it doesn't have to break the budget, shopping the Sierra clearance section and REI garage sales you can find all sorts of things for cheap.

What are your thoughts on ski mittens instead of cycling gloves?

They work, but they tend to be a little too bulky , lack the palm padding of a riding glove and you lose the dexterity for braking and shifting.
