Eagle RV Park | Thermopolis WY | 3 Minute Review
Eagle RV Park is a great home base to explore the Thermopolis Wyoming area. Just minutes away from Hot Springs State Park where you can hike or bike trails, take a scenic drive, view buffalo or soak in the Mineral Spring water in one of three facilities. The RV Park is also close to Wind River Canyon and the Boysen State Park. 30 minutes Northwest view ancient Petroglyphs at Legend Rock. This campground is on the small side, but sites are surprising spacious and facilities are clean and well kept. There is no online reservations, you can call or e-mail, info at www.eaglervpark.com. Since they don't seem to like answering the phone or responding to voicemails, I would suggest e-mailing at least 3 days in advance of your stay.

Needles Highway Scenic Drive in 360 #360video #southdakota #scenicdrive

Put on your VR googles and take a relaxing, scenic drive on the Needles Highway in Custer State Park, South Dakota. This is such a beautiful drive that isn’t terribly long. Did it the 1st time at 60. On the one hand it kind of cheeses you off getting passed by all these other people when you stop for a rest and they are just diddle-bopping along but then you think, "Oh yeah. I'm one of if not the oldest person on the mountain today and the dude that just passed me could be my grandson." Then it doesn't sting as much. 😊 I think "easy" is the wrong word because it's still tough as anything. Whenever I describe the 14rs I've done I go w/ "technical" instead of easy and there are no "easy" 14ers.

    • @RoaminLama
      @RoaminLama 18 днів тому

      The easy came from what locals told me the night before in Georgetown. "It's the easiest 14er and the hardest 3 and a half miles you'll ever hike." Congrats on making it at the age of 60. And, thanks for watching.

    Fantastic! I started riding this trail in 1982 up to '97 or '98 then with another group of friends in 2010 thru 2021 when trail conditions and closures had us start in '22 the Root River Trail system. I've seen gobs of bike videos but this is the absolute best; every mile, no stops and starts, great for continuity. The direction, speed, and especially the topography and distance done added hugely to the video. I started with section 2 and just had to watch section 1! I've chores to do now so 3 and 4 will have to wait until tomorrow morning. Thanks much!

    I visited this trail just before my 60th birthday, and I appreciate and concur with your favorable review of the trail. I have read so much about the poor condition of the pavement, but I think that the surface is not that bad and there are certainly not potholes. When I rode this trail, I enjoyed the scenery, and my mind was not on the pavement's condition. I actually think that the Omaha trail is more scenic than the famous Elroy-Sparta trail. Omaha Trail has some nice elevated views of the surrounding terrain and the Omaha tunnel is not too interminably long. In the raw footage (not the narration added later) there was a remark about "another washout".

    A dedicated car-free human powered transportation route through a metropolitan area is a bigger deal than maybe most think. Plenty of nice pleasant scenic trails out there, but this one is nice for it's infrastructure purpose and deserves the recognition it has.

    • @RoaminLama
      @RoaminLama 2 місяці тому

      I appreciate your sentiment. And agree that it is a beautiful green space worthy of recognition. Just not up to par for serious biking and lacks the diversity of scenery found on a plethora of other Illinois Rail Trails.

    • @gs_weiss
      @gs_weiss 2 місяці тому

      @@RoaminLama rail trails are multi use, not just for biking. But also "serious biking" also means commuting in the city, which many of us do on these trails. It's not a destination for out of towners, it's a highly functional bit of infrastructure for those of us that live there. As I said, it's purpose is much greater than just scenery. I never said it was a green space, just the opposite. It's a highway for people not in cars. Giving it recognition is not only deserved, it's a model for other communities to do the same.

    Good to see you’re over the illnesses and getting back out there. This looks like your stereotypical MUP (multi use path) full of individuals and small groups who lack in situational awareness to cause traffic problems where bicyclists are seen as the hazard. It’s fortunate that this is new because I wonder if the homeless may start encroaching upon it like they have on similar MUPs here in Pittsburgh.

      You couldn't have summed up the paths clientele more accurately. Although self awareness is a problem with many recreation paths. The hoods around this path are pretty gentrified, but I was told by my family that live next to it, "don't do it at night."

      I've hiked about 20 miles of the R to R. A very rustic trail. The Cedar trail that is the 12 mile loop around the state park merges with the R to R one the southern end.

    Rode this starting at Western avenue in Park Forest to Joliet and back. Downtown Frankfort has some cool stops for food as well as a nice guitar shop.

      Nice ride! I hope they fixed it. I almost lost fillings when I was on it. And yes, Frankfort has a really nice downtown. Thanks for watching and keep bikin’!

    Love this video and ride. We moved to Ecuador in 2021, but I watch your videos to relive my rides. I'm guessing this ride was on a Sunday, given the runners between Wheaton and GE. The ones that like to run 3-4 abreast. ;-)

      Thanks for watching and your kind words. The ride was actually on a Saturday morning, but there was some sort of event that day. And yes, those four abreast runners that don't budge no matter how many times you announce your pass are my biggest pet peeve. Hope there's some good trails down in Ecuador for you to enjoy. If there are, they must be stunningly beautiful.

      Thanks. Because I edit for a living, last last thing I want to do is edit more after work. But I finally got a little break.

    I like this spur a lot because it's relatively empty and the section by the airport is great in the summer. The downside is the section through West Chicago which is very confusing the first time through. If it's early am, I usually just ride up the road instead of riding sidewalks and alleys.

    Thanks for the video. Glad I found your channel. The IPP continues south of Illinois Street to the North end of downtown Aurora, turning and ending at a sidewalk along Broadway. It's not always open though in that the riverfront Park sometimes closes this part of the path for concerts. It's a little frustrating and sometimes you don't find this out until you get to the Park itself. It's worth the trip though because there's an awesome pedestrian bike bridge that now connects this to the Fox River trail as well as connecting the concert venue at the park to parking across the river. My wife and I have been riding these trails for about 15 years now, every weekend the weather allows. We've conditioned ourselves to do the triangle: home in West Glen Ellyn to a coffee shop in Aurora, formerly Tredwell now closed and now Society 57 or Endiro Coffee. Then up the Fox River trail to Elgin and a stop at Blue Box Cafe, only open on Saturdays. Close Sunday. Then the Elgin trail back home. It's a great 54 mile ride.

    Looks Boring to many street crossings

      I wouldn't go as far to say boring. It does have it's nice sections particularly west of 294. But, yes way too many road crossings. I live in Glen Ellyn, so I use it to get to the other branches where the trails go through forest preserves and are far less "urban/suburban".

    The bolts on the posts will not let me put the seat all the way down

    • @RoaminLama
      @RoaminLama 7 місяців тому

      That is the problem with the water bottle mounts. The only fix is to shorten the seat post either by buying a shorter post or cutting the post you have.

      Thank you so much. I'm glad you got something out of the video. And, I plan to never stop biking, even if after my body says NO!, I'll just get an e-bike 😉
