Mine disconnects every time I unplug it and it does after I play with it while charging it after a hour and doesn’t work then you charge it then it doesn’t work and does the same cycle so I have to charge all day and get a hour worth of play
I have a brand new controller that never charged. I have an old controller that charges from the PS4 with 2 cables, however they do not work with my brand cable. I tried resetting the controller, several chargers, nothing nada, zero, zip. The light does light up, I was never able to connected to the PS4 thru hold thing ps button and share button.. soo idk what the hell with this remote.

And speaking as a person who’s controller would not charge and would not light up (blue, red, yellow, etc) this route definitely works. I believe I a different component to the mother piece (JDS-011). I ordered from EBay for about 3-4 bucks. Guys, all it takes is a bit of perseverance, common sense, and basic knowledge to get your controller fixed. Without out you Khan XO I would’ve spent 60-70 bucks for a controller. Literally, saved money, a controller, and happiness. So, thank you again man! Definitely referring you to anyone else who needs help with their controller
Hey man I did everything according to your video, got the model number and was ready to order it. But as soon as I put everything back to together, in a last ditch effort I tried to charge it again, and it worked. The only thing I did outside of your video was simply just blowing and wiping out the dust around the inside, but other than that IDK what i did to make it work. But if it wasnt for your step by step clear and precide instructions, It probably never wouldve worked again, cause I tried numerous other options. So thanks a lot man.

Both of my controllers don’t work. I haven’t used my ps4 for about a half a year. But they work for just about a second when I have them in a cable but then they shut off

Magic... this is some old forbidden magic! For god sake, I have just repaired my own ps4 controller O_O thank you! It took me pretty much up to one hour, as I have never done that before. My usb socket was wasted to the point of no return (not charging anymore) , so I had to replace it, thanks to your video I got to know how and what to look out for, either not to destroy things or important information like number of the usb board. I have paid for new board like 2.5$ U.S.! where for new controller .. sigh! Thank you, I wish all the best for you.
I bought a purple "for parts" DS4 for $20 with the plan to fix it. Before doing anything, I pressed the home button, and got a red flashing light. Then plugged it in and got no charging light, but it would then flash white when pressing the home button. Then I squirted some 90% alcohol in the port, blew in it a few times, then let it sit port down for an hour. Plugged it into the console and it worked. So consider trying to just wash it out with a little alcohol too. Could just be dirty.
I didn’t have that problem I was just having my ps4 cable for the ps4 cable was loose I just got a tool to make the both ends of the cable tight but this video was interesting to watch lol good explanation bro

I got a charging station for the charging port on the bottom of the controller in between the joysticks and it works fine but you cant play or use the mic while charging it
Yeah if your controller won’t charge at all or no LED lights show just buy a cheap dock. It’ll charge. Idk why ppl just don’t suggest that Instead of doing surgery on the controller

what worked for me was that i changed out the battery for a new one and held the share+reset button for about more than 5 seconds. now my controller charges again

Thankyou for the video. But you didn't mention anything about why the cable has been plugged in the way you have shown. Some users may just plug in the ribbon cable incorrectly to avoid the way the cable has been "folded". It was "folded" so that "Pin 1" on the top cover matched with "Pin 1" on the bottom cover.

My PS4 controller will blink yellow once when you plug it in. After that it does nothing. Pressing the PS button and PS button + Share button it does nothing. Same goes when I plug it into my PC, I hear the USB sound, blinks yellow once then nothing. So frustrating.
I’m not entirely sure but from what I understand, the blink yellow once behavior is an indicator of counterfeit controllers. True controllers will slowly but continuously pulse yellow when connected.
I was having trouble connecting my controller to my new ps4 from my old one and it wouldnt connect. Was using a usb cable I just found laying around and it wouldnt connect to new playstation. I had to use the cable that came with the playstation for it to work. No other cable would work for some reason. So hopefully this helps anyone whos having same issue.

AleksGamesPL the ribbon cable connects the USB port to the main board. If there is a problem with the cable, you wouldn’t be able to do anything related to the port aka no ability to charge or sync.

Yagirl erika it could be for a number of reasons so you’ll have to troubleshoot. It could be a faulty usb cable that is being used to charge the controller, could be a bad battery that doesn’t hold charge as well, also could be a bad charging port that doesn’t properly charge. I would start with those 3 first in that order.
I didn't reset my controller properly. Never held the PS button. I'm gonna try it. If not, there might be a hardware issue. Replacing a part that broke e.g ribbon cable or port will be cheaper than a new controller that'll break randomly

Make sure not to use Fast Chargers, from Samsung, or just any Fast Chargers.

jds-040 is for pro/slim controllers. jds-030 is for the older controllers made before 2016

You have to use a micro usb cable that also transfer data, and not just charge the controller.

You probably damaged the gold pins on the wire or probably put them on wrong
So does the blue ribbon affect charging? Mine is all connecting but one of the golden pieces at the end is bent...

How come when i leave it on the cord it charges but when I take my controller off it always says “low battery” or “controller disconnected” and when I try to push the middle button it never works. Help?
Yagirl erika it could be for a number of reasons so you’ll have to troubleshoot. It could be a faulty usb cable that is being used to charge the controller, could be a bad battery that doesn’t hold charge as well, also could be a bad charging port that doesn’t properly charge. I would start with those 3 first in that order.

I didn't reset my controller properly. Never held the PS button. I'm gonna try it. If not, there might be a hardware issue. Replacing a part that broke e.g ribbon cable or port will be cheaper than a new controller that'll break randomly
My controller is brand new and it doesn’t charge, when I first got it it worked but then when it went flat it never charged or the fed on again, I have tried EVRERYTHING and it just doesn’t charge, bought 2 new cables and tries resetting it, someone please help
my blue ribbons looks fine, i feel like when i plug controller in a power banks it gives charge because power bank light flash but the controller itself never has light. What would you suggest
mosiko6 might be a bad battery, assuming ribbon cable and USB port are fine

Red bar means you need to replace a battery. Before this, try to full charging again, if red again, buy battery from ebay.

my probelm is the controller only works when its on a cable even though its fully charged and wireless it turns blue for 10 seconds then turns grey
i think i broke a piece inside the controller bc my controller rattles
with the release of ps5 hopefully the controller pieces will be much more harder to break bc i raged and throw my controller cant be doing that when i get a scuf gaming controller

for them who dont know to charging port compatilble with the ps4 controller v2 it dosent really matter wich one you get as i orderd one diffent to the one i had in and it fits fine just ketting ever one know
