I had same symptoms on my brembo rebuilt slave and master and still had issues. Pulled slave off again and noticed tiny marks from chain brushing up against it causing internal leaking/failure. Likely heavy mud pushed chain out a little, since then running EE slave guards and never an issue since.
FYI, you can get to the bottom bolt on the slave with the guard down, you just have to take your socket and push the guard over kind of hard. The rubber part of the guard bends over for you and you can tighten all the bolts equally.
You gotta go back to a sherco. 250hrs in on my 250 2t. No DNFs. Ride it like i stole it.. ghost it off hill climbs. Pretty much treat it like a redheaded step child. 😊 Lots of maintenance.. still running the original clutches. Basket barely shows wear.
That’s how my 2018 KTM was. I just don’t like Sherco. They are good but I don’t like the feel and I really don’t like working on them. Kinda like the Beta. I took a chance on a brand and I’m not into it. Everybody has a brand that works. Oh and the XR650 wins that durability thing by a mile. 60,000 plus miles, one baja 1000 finish, multiple pre runs, 5 miles of hell and everything in between. Oh and it makes people cry when you pass them on it 🤣
@@highlandcycles those big thumpers are awesome. I can understand not liking the feel of something. I can't stand orange... they feel like choppers compared to everything else. Gonna ride my kx450 all summer and see what I feel like this fall. Trying to get my endurance up so I can make it to A class... or maybe I'll just sweep the B-40 like a buddy did last year. 🤔 I tried to stop his perfect run but just couldn't get it done. 😪
@@woodysrockspyro6436More than 500 hours on my old KTM 450 exc not a single problem only changed the top end for a hi comp piston at 250 hours but didn't need it... Hi Morgan, I watch all your videos, I am trying to find a place (website) I can order oem Ktm parts for a 24’ 300sx? I always see you ordering new Ktm parts and wonder where I can find them, like your slave cylinder etc.
Link to the pliers? You should have links to all your tools so I can build my riding bag from scratch! Basically everything a KTM 300 would need on the trails to get us home here in Colorado!
I don't have a link to those. If you are talking about the snap ring pliers they are the ones from Rocky Mountain. If you go here bit.ly/Highlandcycles you can grab them and all the other tools I am using at my home shop
Hey I thought you hated rekluse?! I guess the engine and transmission are looking fresh or at least good. The last ktm transmission I looked at looked new at idk how many hours. I had a crank bearing go out on my 15 tc250. The cases were easy to split as ktm designed them to come apart as more of a maintenance procedure. When talking about hours on a dirtbike there are pro hours, race hours, and old guy mechanic hours, followed by neglected trail rider hours. Trail riders are notorious for running bearings until they fall out or off. Transmission oil can last an entire summer for a trail rider. Race preparation for a woods rider is washing the bike and lubing the chain. Fuel injection was developed for spodes that are too incompetent to comprehend jetting a carb that's why woods bikes came with tpi and mx models kept carbs.
Though my comment isn't nice, i have to say it. I'm so glad even an experienced mechanic can't hold his tools and somehow sends them across the room after each turn of a bolt.
I'm on original slave cylinder 2011 300xc 1100 hours. I did change the master cyc. due to the housing just wearing out from high hours. Curious, how often you change fluid. I would change every 6 months.
Glad you sorted it out. The night footage was very cool!
So fun
Morgan, you're killing me with the shop towels being backwards! 😂
🤣

That is a great piece of info. I’ll be checking closer.
I got one of those lifts and love it. Sucks you had a failure with the Beta and then the KTM. I guess it doesn’t matter what manufacturer it is.

Honestly on this bike I’m not sure. Maybe once in 210 hrs. Maybe.
So what caused the failure?
Makita are good power tools👍
Brake cleaner is soooooo harsh for that 🍻….. I use to be against rekluse but ordered one a couple days ago
You should have been running a rekluse auto clutch
🤣
awesome

Sounds like the slave cylinder o-ring failed and your fluid has left the chat.
I'm only 3 minutes into the video though. lol
