Donkey's years ago I took my lad to see Wales v Italy U21 at Ebbw Vale. Five minutes in, the Italian 10 kicked a drop from his own 10m line with 20m to spare. It was the most phenominal drop-goal I have ever seen. Your vid of Steyn's kick reminded both of us of that long-forgotten day out. Thanks!
His 2 drop goals at the end of the match vs Australia took South Africa from behind to win. 74th min and 78th min. Final score 22-19. First goal was from the touch line from a poor clearance 35-40m away. Second was from the pocket 30m away on a favourable angle. He was 20.

I love how Racing 92 seems to get people based on talent, Stein, Imhoff, Carter, such an exciting set of players. And Steyn alone is a one man backline.

And again yesterday against Wales, superb! And wins man of the match changing the momentum of the game when he came on, like he did just a month ago against New Zealand. The holocaust in the early 1940s World War 2, and Francois Steyn that never played 100 tests for South Africa are the two biggest attocities ever committed by man. Surely he wil make the World Cup, and possibly become the only player ever player to win it 3 times....

We won the last world cup because of him, Rassie knew he could play a 6 2 split because we had a versatile player who could play any position in the backline aside from scrum half, will never get a rugby player in the world like this again
It'll be cool if he could go for another Lions tour next year and win it. Surely that'll be a record for the only player to win two RWC titles and two Lions tours.

@@EllliotJackRussel1 Pollard is injured but he would still be on the bench because if damien Willemse Elton janties went in fact he might be a reserve
@@ewmuvva5852 Pollard is a mile better than both. Jantijes did not work at Test level and Willemse lacks experience.

@@hennoliebenberg3885 I hope not. Love the guy but we have a horrible trend in SA of playing players way past their sell by date; not only does it tarnish their reputation but it also blocks the inclusion of potentially the next Francois Steyn.
As much as I love him as a player he was mainly in the boks squad during the World Cup because of experience and leadership, not quite needed when the Lions tour seeing as SA will be at home with a larger squad.
@@AndrewDavidForde very true! I was simply thinking what nienaber and rassie would do. They do tend to hang on experience so i thought he would maybe be involved. But seeing he is part of the cheetahs now that could lower his chances anyway
