      Hey there! It says he uses a nutrient spray just about half way thru, before he finishes the first one. Hope this helps! He shows the bottle as well ^^

    so beautiful, you wouldn't BELIEVE the struggle a younglin goes through while living in the desert ;-;. Cant find any pretty plants, isopods, springtails, mosses so I think im taking a hike towards Julian or Idywild CA. Wish me luck!!

    what is in the nutrient spray? also if i want to get clippings from small plants outside how do i know which ones are good for a closed terrarium? love the video! your house seems so zen

      it’s just a liquid fertilizer i diluted in water! it’s difficult to say which ones exactly since i’m not sure where u live. but small ones growing in cracks on the ground or clovers n stuff would probably work!

    2. How do you keep your closed terrarium mold free?

      Like he said I got one from the shop and there’s next to no soil in it and I don’t ever see mould in it. Ones that you make and put soil in end up with mould. Don’t know if the soil is too wet to start with. No springtales really required

      nothing crazy, but i’ve had some springtails and small detritus worms. they’re not harmful though and actually help break down decaying matter and eat mold/fungus. i’ve had some fungus gnats as well which are a little annoying, but not that harmful.

      it’s a nutrient spray from repotme.com. It’s the Orchid food spray

      so i cant identify it either buuut i found it in the forest. i'd recommend to take a walk and look for it! (tipp: not only by the forestpaths)

      It most definitely is an aquatic moss, it's branches points upwards. 85% sure it's flame moss.

    After commenting on the other video (asking to show the totoro), this video shows up. I guess the question is, where do you get the materials. Is food grade powder charcoal works? Where do we get live moss (forest??)?

      You can find live moss outside in shady, damp areas or if you don’t want to risk introducing anything from outdoors you can buy some moss pretty cheap online. I don’t know the answer to the charcoal question, sorry.

    Hi Benji, I have a question about putting together the terrarium. Should the sphagnum moss be moist when you put it in the container? Is Orchid moss okay to use? Love your videos!

      it doesn't have to be moist, but it helps give an idea of what it will look like when you water it. Sphagnum mosss expands a bit once it's wet. Also, orchid moss is most likely sphagnum moss just labeled as orchid moss :)

      @@Yuki-tj5kf Yes, but they also create oxygen as a by-product of photosynthesis. The carbon dioxide is absorbed by the air, trees and moss. The terrarium is a self sustaining eco-system, and could theoretically last forever, as long as there are enough bugs.

      it’s horticultural charcoal. I’m not sure what the difference is but they’re marketed as different products.

      you can typically find the dried sphagnum moss at garden centers, but i’ve never seen a garden center sell live moss in my area
