- I try to approach plants creatively and experimentally. I've seen people talk about how they're becoming disinterested in plants, but I think one of the reasons for this might be because people only grow a select few genera or species. Most of the social media houseplant community I see sticks to aroids. I love aroids too, however, it can be refreshing and inspiring to grow different plants or try fun projects with them! For me, it rekindles that initial spark of joy I felt when I first discovered my love of plants. The idea of newness and exploration with projects and new plants is what keeps my passions alive. I loooove aquariums and you do them so we’ll!! They helped me learn so much about nature and house plants , plus using the aquarium water is so helpful when you have houseplants, propagating, watering them is so easy and makes em thrive !! Honestly anything you are passionate about comes across so well I’m sure everyone would love it 💚

@@benjiplant A video "everything about aquariums" sounds pretty overwhelming to me too. However I do love to experiment with plants in water like keep lucky bamboo in water, buy aquarium plants and arrange them with stones and cute glass fish and such...How about you start small (like: how much natural light would such an aquarium plant need, how much water change to keep it alive at least for some time a.s.o.; how much fertilizer does the lucky bamboo need?, and maybe give some more information on which plants are really good to keep in water indefinitely and what to keep in mind) ? And then you might just get to more ambitious projects step by step -?
@@marylou8891 Personally, I'd love a more informative video on Benji's process / take on aquariums! I've done a bunch of research on them and was actually hoping for a video specifically dedicated to aquariums from Benji- there's so much information out there on the more beginner-friendly stuff so it'd be nice to have that deeper insight into how he achieves his setups as well as the creative aspect / designing of them. I definitely agree with you on starting with explaining the simpler stuff first and then delving into the more intricate parts of aquariums in the video though :)
Benji, your videos help me relax and open my mind and eyes to new plants and ideas. Don't ever stop making videos, I love them so much
I would love to see a video on aquariums!! I really want to get a betta fish and I want to do a whole wild aquatic plant feel with it so the fish feels more at home.
I would love to see Benji make a video on this too, but definitely check out SerpaDesign, his channel has so many incredible aquarium/terrarium/paludarium builds. He does have one for a betta fish too :)

This video is sooo inspiring! Oddly enough, recently I’ve been exploring new low-cost ways of displaying my plants. This week I made my first macrame plant hanger and I’m loving the processed so I’m going to try a lot of beginner macrame projects now.

Hi Benji, loved the video! If you need any extra video ideas, I was thinking about a video where you talk about some things that go/have gone wrong in your plant journey or just in every day care taking. For example, some projects that failed or plants that have died and what you have learned from it :)
I have a large collection of blue / white porcelain carpet balls. I tend to collect blue orbs or circles as well. I took inspiration from your moss orb and added a few into different areas where I have my dish / glass collection displayed. I love the contrast of the blue/ white then clear living greens mixed and matched. It combines my love of blue onion and plants. I have a chain of turtles that got huge over winter I might do a feature plant of that as well hanging. Thanks for sharing!
You should be proud! I was looking for gorgeous plant pics recently and more than once people were sharing your plants and terrarium/aquariums! You have a very good UA-cam channel and most definitely a green thumb or two :) i enjoy the content you put out.

I love the Peperomia wrapped kokedama, I made one a couple months back with a baby tears plant and has the same floating affect your kokedama has :) these projects look like so much fun

Theo! You're the real star 😍 OK, now I can comment. I'm so happy you addressed how to keep your hobby fresh and interesting, because getting bored definitely happens. I'm in a slump right now with my fish keeping, and since I'm much newer to plants, I want to spend all my time on them. I need to think about what I want to try and how I can get creative with my aquariums.
I gained my interest In growing plants mainly from my grandfather with gardening and a former farm stand job where we would plant, harvest, and sell produce which really inspired me to start my own garden. From there I began collecting indoor plants which then turned into growing outdoor plants in a grow tent (ie beans, peppers, herbs, etc). I have tried to just explore my interest and have fun like you said so I completely agree with your point. I always like to tell people with fishing who ask me about it, and I tell them to just make it what you want and have fun and that’s the best way to learn. Great video even though I’m a month late, I just recently found your channel!
