    I think what some aren't getting here is Shaun talking about how Fanatec changed the game. First, most of us had plastic pedals. Fanatec introduced metal construction at a reasonable price, where most premium pedal manufacturers charged much, much more for their metal pedals. Now Fanatec brings inverted pedals at a reasonable price, certainly much cheaper than other inverted pedal sets. It's going to cost you as you move away from cheap stuff to equipment that should last a lifetime. Are you a casual user or are you ready to take your sim racing to the next level?

      John G. Hill T500 pedals can be inverted and cost much less. Also what I don't like about Fanatec, is their tendency to make false statements. E.g. they said on their homepage that these are "hydraulic pedals". This is not true. Didn't happen for the first time though.

      CSR Elites are the best IMO. Load cell and you can buy inversion kit or mount them inverted in your rig. Love my Elites!!!

      The T500 are not load cell pedals. Big difference in feel. Once your brain get's use to load cells, it's hard to go back.

      John G. Hill might be true for you. However I sold my CSPv1 and kept the T500 pedals instead. I use the Basherboards brake mod though.

    Was lurking on those pedals since the launch. Normally would never have bought them but the Fanatec Blak Friday deal put at them -40% sale, lowering the price from 600€ to 360€ which is finally a reasonable price for me. They're arriving in two days and I can't wait to have them replace my V2 pedals which I was actually very happy with.

    Nice review Shawn, compared to what is on the market now these pedals are a very good option I think and a darn good looking set of pedals. Considering just an aftermarket load cell will run anywhere from $100 to $180 and the brake adjustability on these pedals is fantastic and looks very user friendly out of the box.

  • @SimRacingCorner
    @SimRacingCorner 7 років тому +7

    Seriously HE Pro pedals are miles better than the V3's, inverted or otherwise. If you're in Europe buying these instead of HE Pro's makes little sense. Until recently I had the regular V3's, and they we're great. Bought HE Pro's and the difference is measurable in the brake and throttle modulation control. I had an entirely different and improved experience with the Pro's brake and throttle fine control. Of course had I not upgraded I'd have no idea, and beforehand I had doubts whether I would find them better. As a user of both, I can tell you they are very much superior to the Fanatec pedals.
    Not knocking the standard V3's, at that price I think they're excellent. But the inverted puts them in competition with far better pedals, it's simply fact.

    • @floodo1
      @floodo1 7 років тому

      Meanwhile, in the United States the v3 inverterd are $499 while the HE Pro are $760. The only competition for the v3 Inverted in the US are the v3 non-inverted (who else makes $600 or less pedals of this caliber in the US?).
      VERY interesting how the situation is so different on either side of the Atlantic!! Good info, thanks (-8

    • @SoulReaperJay1
      @SoulReaperJay1 7 років тому +2

      The prices shown on the HE site have the 20% VAT in the price. Here in the US we don't pay that, HE Pro's can be had for about $590.

    • @floodo1
      @floodo1 7 років тому

      Good point about VAT, forgot about that. 720 euro with 20% VAT is 600 euro without VAT which is 634 dollars currently. Clubsports have a base plate that HE and Proto Simtech do not have. When you add the plate to the PT-1's then they are 530$!
      Anyway, thanks for the info (-8

    Have the normal V3 for a couple months now. Only thing I wish they would add is an option to move the individual pedal assemblies.
    Moving the face plate also changes how much force needs to be applied since force is not being applied to the center anymore. Off center forces tends to increase wear as well...
    Had to cut those little spacers rings to move the brake pedal further out. Would have expected a proper solution for a "version 3" design. Other then that, pretty good stuff.
    EDIT: Forgot, one thing that pissed be off when taking them apart. Metric and stone age thread screws in the same product (with damper kit), WTF!?

    I’m still running my T500rs with the original pedals. I haven’t really raced in my Obutto Ozone since GT6. I was too lazy to rearrange my Man Cave to play GT Sport. Now that GT7 is here for the next 5yrs or so, I am so out of “racing shape” LOL. I have the pedals mounted onto the pedal plate in the “GT” or inverted position. Inverting your pedals was all the rage 10yrs ago. But, now it seems like that cooled off and the majority of pedals are set in the “F1” orientation. I also used to have my brake pedal pretty stiff. Now that I’m 52, I don’t feel like having to really lay into it to get full braking. Same with the gas, I am finding myself pushing my leg to go full throttle rather than pivoting my ankle. I can’t recall if I’ve ever used the pedals in the down or F1 position. If I move the seat forward a click or two, then I’m too close to the pedals and I get soreness in my left ankle from resting my foot on the pedal. As for the brake pedal face, I’m using a custom made pedal face that spans the brake and clutch. I have zero internet in using a clutch. I tried it on my G25 and it was just nothing like driving a real clutch. So, I’m quite happy with sequential shifting.
    I can’t just simply flip the pedals around and press a couple of buttons. The pedals are oddly mounted to the Obutto pedal tray. I can’t find any inverted Vs regular pedal position videos to give me an idea of what to expect if I take my rig apart and flip them around.
    What are your thoughts on inverted Vs regular (or flat)?
    Thanks bud

    • @TheSimpit
      @TheSimpit  2 роки тому

      Tbh, there really is no difference between inverted and flat orientation. It all comes down to your preference, what you like, and what feels good to you.

    Very surprised you didn't comment on the difference in height of the clutch and brake! The clutch sits about 2cm higher than the brake, making they awkward to use smoothly, imho. This is obvious in the side view of the set on the Fanatec site. Only explanation seems to be they have never seen a car with a clutch???

    Is it comfy for left foot braking? I.e. not too much offset, not too much body twist, enough spacing? Recommend for F1? It looks to me that they are a bit more spaced out than the non inverted V3. I'm looking for a set to offer a good left braking position, but also use as clutch drive from time to time. This also seems to have more travel than the non inverted V3 and slightly better quality. Should I order this? If so, should I still order the damper to mount it on the gas pedal? I read some people do that... or should I just mount the stiffer spring if I need more feel. Any educated opinion is welcome. Thank you

    I don't find software that allows any adjustment at the Fanatec download page. I do find the drivers. Love my Fanatec pedals but they should have given us the new brake pressure inserts, free. Not a problem with these. Thanks for the review. Let me know about any software the allows adjustment

    - in the 2 areas of how they perform and price, how do these pedals compare to the Proto SimTech PT-1's and the HE Pro's pedals?

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner 7 років тому +2

      HE Pro's are significantly better. The HE Pro's uses higher quality load cells for the pedals which makes a massive difference to the sensitivity of the control you have, it just feels more connected. It's something that can only be demonstrated by trying them.

    • @tomasartica4861
      @tomasartica4861 7 років тому

      mingojingo Thanks for replying. So the only difference is the higher quality load cells on the HE Pro's? What is the price difference? Know the real differences between the Proto SimTech PT-1's and HE Pro's?

    • @SimRacingCorner
      @SimRacingCorner 7 років тому +2

      There of course other differences such design choices and adjustability which you can see in many video reviews. The HE Pro's are certainly more visually authentic and I'd wager the electronics are more robust too. I mentioned the 'sensitivity of the control' as that is something I know from owning the HE Pro's and previous owner of Fanatec V3's, so it's comparison between the sets. And it's something you won't know without testing them. Just because both use load cells doesn't make their performance equal.
      Sorry I've never used the PT-1's so I couldn't comment. The V3's not not trash in anyway, they are very good. There's just better out there. And my point really is if you're pedal budget is this high (V3 inverted), you have other options, and indeed they are better options.

    Hello everyone I just made a hobby investment and purchased the CSR wheel with V3 pedals I had a thrustmaster TX which worked fine but in my humble opinion didn't have I will call it the oomph that the G920 I tried a few times. So I decided on the Fanatec CSR bundle which I have on a GT wheel stand. Easily slide back and forth. Wholes fit no drilling needed. When I use the Fanatec system check it says OK and the blue shows for each one wheel peddles. With the games the wheel turns and the cars rev but they won't drive. Asseto Corso says awaiting input Forza 7 IRacing Project 2 same. Dirt 4 free play it works but not racing. I have tried everything from UA-cam and the Web and emailed Fanatec several days ago spoke with Microsoft. I am looking for an answer of why it's not working so I can find a solution. If it's possible an answer would be great. Thank you.

      I'm adding that to my vocabulary and my wife is going to be hearing that phrase a couple of times a year from now on, cheers ;)

    Is there no instruction video on how to invert normal V3 pedals instead of paying € 240,00 more for inverted V3 pedals ?

    I currently have the T3PA Pro pedals inverted and I'm looking to get the Fanatec Clubsport V3's. Do you think the inverted pedals are worth the extra $200 in your opinion? I personally doubt it, but I'd like to know your opinion.

    I was considering the inverted but was afraid they wouldn't fit in my setup. Saw this said they are 12.5 inces. I have 13 inches of clearance lol.

      Same problem, my CSL Elites only just fit my GTOmega, and the Fanaterc website says the V3 Inverted are 7 inches longer, and now I bought standard V3s I am seeing reviews saying they are the same length. :(

    Come on Shaun! Adding a damper kit plus performance kit (excluding the shipping cost) is $600US or just over $1000AU. With all respect, you have been a bit too excited about these pedals. The price tag is NOT justified,. Save a couple of hundreds of dollars and you can buy yourself high-end pedals like HE or other. The Fanatec is a good brand but this time they have gone too far. The cost is ridiculous! I must admit it looks fantastic for sure. I'd suggest to use these pedals side by side with high-end pedals and then review it again if possible.

    Can you use the pedals with other branded steering wheels or only fanatec wheels

      On PC, these pedals can be used with other wheels so long as you can spare another USB port for the pedals.

    I want these pedals. But I have one question about the way you had it set up. To me it looked like you were barely able to reach them. I personally don’t like to have to extend my leg and foot to the extreme in order to do repetitive things like using the clutch.

    Is it correct, the more stiffer you adjust the brake, the more shorter the brake pedal travel range is?

    These cost 600 bucks in the EU.
    Way overpriced. Normal V3 are "only" 360.

    • @abc_def-55
      @abc_def-55 7 років тому +5

      Yeah, in the EU normal V3s are 360€, plus 80€ for the damper kit, so it's basically 160€ for the bracket. Compared to the USA, where it's 300$ for the pedals and 70$ for the damper, so 130$ for the bracket. Prices in the states are sort of reasonable, EU not so much.
      It's just Fanatec being Fanatec.
      ... which is the reason I bought the Protosimtech PT-1 pedals for 440$, though it totaled to 650€ after shipping and taxes to EU. And I still consider that a bargain compared to the V3's... you just get way more bang for your buck, there's even a review of them on The Simpit. :)

    • @Fanatec_Official
      @Fanatec_Official 7 років тому +9

      So it is totally ok that the price difference between the Euro and USD amount of your PT-1 pedals is 48% while the difference on the Fanatec side is just 23%.
      Sounds logic.
      And by the way, the US prices never include any tax and therefore the price difference.

    • @mickeilkeil
      @mickeilkeil 7 років тому +11

      "And by the way, the US prices never include any tax and therefore the price difference."
      ok
      499.95$ = 472.26€
      472.26€ * 1.19 (19% vat) = 562€
      ClubSport Pedals V3 inverted cost 599.99€
      so this difference is cause the fanatec device is build in USA ... ho wait ... made in deutschland ... ... mmm ...
      i don't know why i feel 37€ in my ...
      and for a load cell ... shipping cost 12$ for USA and 17€ for france ... no problem

      "So it is totally ok that the price difference between the Euro and USD amount of your PT-1 pedals is 48% while the difference on the Fanatec side is just 23%.

      Now you're just being intentionally obtuse. The price of the pedals did not change depending on the currency (unlike with your pedals), the additional cost was shipping and import taxes like I mentioned. You know, just like your pedals aren't actually 360 euros to get into my hands since we need to add shipping costs to that.
      If the 60 euro price difference with your pedals was due to my government or EU being PITA and included shipping, I obviously wouldn't be bashing you for it.
      Because, you know, logic. -_-
      Also, I consider the PT-1's worth 650 euros, considering IMO the only comparable pedal set is Heusinkveld Pro pedals, which are 720 euros plus shipping, the list price for pt-1's is an absolute steal.
      Though mentioning them in the same context as the V3's was probably a mistake, they're completely different levels of product and v3's are not even close to comparable.
      "And by the way, the US prices never include any tax and therefore the price difference."
      Okay, now that would make sense and is fair enough, not that the math actually checks out, but we'll gloss over that.
      Yet somehow when I questioned you about the price difference back when the V3 pedals launched, you forgot to mention that sensible reason, and instead claimed the price difference being because of manufacturing costs being different due to the strength of euro compared to dollar. Which didn't really make sense to me, since if I'm not mistaken you manufacture your stuff in Asia, but I'm not privy to your contracts so what do I know.

    Hi Shaun great review. Do you know if Fanatec will release an upgrade kit for the standard V3 model?
    Thanks

    • @Zach636465
      @Zach636465 7 років тому +1

      andrescastaned80 No. Fanatec has already stated that, despite them looking similar, there are actually many differences in the manufacturing of the normal Clubsport pedals, and the manufacturing of the new Clubsport Inverted pedals, that make creating an upgrade kit impractical, so there will NOT be an upgrade kit.
