For those who have Rekordbox lying around like me: I just tried it with Rekordbox DVS and it works fine! I had to choose the Xone 96 ASIO driver in the settings, then set to external mixer mode and then assign the input/output channels for each deck. Very similar settings as the ones shown in this video. With the channel selector knobs on the mixer set to USB I can then use relative and absolute mode and it seems to work without problems. Tested on Windows with the official A&H drivers installed.
Hi mate! Did you find a way to record an hybrid set? I mean with timecodes and real vinyl. I can't manage to record from rekordbox with the Xone96. Using Audacity I can record the signal from real vinyl, but I can't record the signal from the timecodes running from rekordbox. pd.Sorry for my bad english.
this has made my day ... was looking at a mastersounds radius with an interface 2 or a xone 96..... defo xone 96 now as i have an xp1 which unlocks the dvs with no sub ... thank you so much for this comment
confirming this works with Rekordbox 6 (got the Xp2 to hardware unlock so no subscription), even using Serato control vinyl. Not sure whether I like Rekordbox DVS, it feels a bit laggy, like it's averaging the turntable speed too aggressively, but it works. Xone:96 is a beast regardless.
I finally got my set up going…. Takes a min but it was totally worth it. I am having trouble saving my settings… I have to run set up wizard each time I use it
96 can be used for DVS with Traktor Pro 3 , but Traktor does not support Serato timecode vinyl. You need to use Traktor's own timecode to run DVS in that app

Don't know about Serato, but I guess it should be similar to my experience with Rekordbox DVS. Not supported officially certified, but works. See my other comment here. Would be interesting to know if someone actually tried Serato...

Hi, Thanks for the message. The Traktor scratch certification was in reference to all 'Current' Xone products. Unfortunately, the S2 is discontinued and only has a stereo interface. The S2 interface will connect and stream audio just fine with Third-party software (Traktor), but is not ideal for DVS, or multiple virtual deck mixing, as it only offers a singular stereo feed. @xonedjofficial Traktor pro scratch 2. I brought it back the shop in Melbourne and we confirmed that it's an issue with the mixer. Apparently it's the second unit brought back with USB not working and timecode issues. I paid top $ for a mixer for reliability. I hope this is what I get with the direct replacement I received.

Hello, My setup is Xone 96, 2 technics MK2 and traktor Pro 3. Everything works well in time code with sound card 1 of the xone 96 but when I want to stream my mix (I use software like BUTT), It is the diamond signal from the turntable and not the music that is sent to BUTT. Is this normal? Should I use an external sound card to return the sound via the Master 2 for example ? and Can I use the second Xone 96 sound card to do this ? tx a lot in advance
Hi A x, Thanks for the message. The master bus for recording is on USB channels 11&12. It is these channels that need to be selected in the software’s routing preferences. FYI, the mixer’s USB 11&12 routing switch will also need to be set to MST. This is located below the Master 2 level control. Hi, Thanks for the message, The Xone:96 dual soundcards are Core-audio compliant on Mac OS. Simply hook up the mixer to the computer and it will be seen as an audio device. This video demonstrates DVS, which is not regular vinyl. I have a differnet issue. I can get a scratch inputing coming from decks 1-4, however i can only use channel 1 & 2 for scratch control. I get a tone signal from 3 & 4 but when i switch to USB A, i get nithing. The phone switches on the back are pressed in to route it to USB. Anyone had this issue?

A&H website says it works with the newest version! So if you have the existing version just upgrade for $50, if your jumping in with no existing version its $99 (traktor 3 software disc, 2 timecoded CD, 2 timecoded vinyl records) just click on the link they have where it says "traktor certified "!

Does any one know if you can use an old mk1 serato audio interface with traktor DVS. I’d like to use the separate DVS and analogue outputs of the audio interface to route to 4 individual inputs on xone 96 mixer so I don’t have to fiddle about at the back to press the USB line/ PHONO select switch, mid set, when jumping between DVS and analog vinyl. I’ve bought the mixer already but confused as to what traktor product to buy.
Hello Richard, With the Xone:96, there is no need for any additional interface to run with Traktor pro. This software will run DVS straight out the box with the 96. You will, however, need some Traktor timecode Vinyls or CDs. But other than that, you’re all good! Switching between playing regular vinyl and DVS is achieved simply by switching input selector between USB and Phono. These switches are located on the top panel channels strips for ease of access. The switches you are referring to on the rear of the mixer assigns either the line or phono connector to the USB sends. This routing is intended for DVS signal either coming from Timecode line level (CD) or phono (vinyl). Have the asio driver selected can see everything working in the input out put section . Have the back switch set to phono as I'm using 2x technics . In this video, the instruction is to set the USB routing to to Phono (PH). This is because the DVS is demonstrated here with a turntable. If using Media players, these are line level devices, which should be terminated to the line socket of the channel input. Therefore, the USB routing switch must be set to Line (LN). I have line inputs in line(the phono come plugged). I have the selector set to usb1, ( I have tried several combinations still nothing) but I will go home tonight and go through the steps again.)
Ok went through all the steps line in connected properly, white button depressed which selects line.up top just above the gain I have line selected on channels 2 and 3. In tractor I have xone 96 selected I have output deck A set to: L 3: ch 2L R 4: ch 2R deck B set to: L 5: ch 3L R 6: ch 3R Input routing DeckA L mono 3: ch 2 L R 4: ch 2 R Deck B L mono 5: ch 3L R 6: ch 3R Nothing happening while playing a track on each deck A and deck B Time code set up shows nothing I have scratch control selected on both and all I get is calculating So as you can see that this is quite extensive process to get these two to communicate I would love to see a video any video really of traktor software being ran on a Denon sc6000

Hi! Ive got a xone db2 + 2 turntables setup. I want to record my mixes using MacBook but whatever I try (basically reinstalling driver again and again) it doesn't work.. If I open traktor before connecting mixer it says 'Allen heath xone db2 (not connected)' so it looks like Mac at least notice I plug it in. But it doesn't show in sound preferences in OS. Can someone please help as I'm getting really desperate! Or if there's another cost effective way of recording my mixes without a Mac?
@@oscarmiertorras6127 no unfortunately not. AH never came up with a new driver for recent macOS’s. I’ve replaced/upgraded from db2 now, but only way I found was to buy a recorder, and connect it to the mixer.
Can you guys please make a video on accessing the cross fader? Mojaxx from DJcity mentioned you can by the front panel, but the headphone connection is mounted on there...I need to make the fader cut a little sharper rather than the way it came (stock). My vestax pmc05 has an innofader in it that I installed and calibrated. I want to calibrate my Xone96, but I'm scared that I might damage something when doing so, this is why I'm asking for help! M TEC, at this time the only way to use the SC5000 prime with Traktor is via timecode. You will need to consult Native Instruments on where you can download the timecode file.

Hello Leigh, Thanks for the message. It is possible to use DVS with the DB4. There is no need for an additional third-party interface. If you set the DB4 USB sends (from the mixer) to 'Analogue in' in the mixer setup menu. This will pass the DVS signal from the mixer's input connectors to the computer via USB. It should be noted; channels 1&4 are line level only, whereas channels 2&3 are switchable to line or phono. If you are using timecode vinyl, then you need to use the later configured to phono. So I connected two turntables to inputs 3-4 and 5-6 switched the FX/Ch switch to CH on respective channels , then switched inputs on traktor on deck A and B to 3-4 and 5-6 respectively, then outputs the same way . Then after calibration I switched the mixer channel SC For audio out ??? Hope i did it the right way as you said . And I notice that the pitch fader 🎚 on my plx 1000 does not control movement of pitch fader in the software though I can hear the change in pitch . Any ideas for that ? Today is the first time I’m setting my new turntables ,! Cheers ✌️

@@xonedjofficial Thanks for the reply. I am currently seeing that the deck in Traktor is stuck on "Calibrating" and never goes beyond that. The inputs and outputs look correct per the video, but it's not playing music due to the "Calibrating" state. I just see an orange "Calibrating" message above the deck, it disappears, then reappears after some time. Maybe my control vinyl is bad?
If anyone here is reading this, experiencing the same thing I did - the solution for me was to ensure that you're using NI Traktor specific timecode vinyl. It _will not_ work with any other brand of timecode vinyl. This is annoying, but workable.

SpinnZinn 1:13, 1:25, 1:36, 2:43... the selectors should be virtual not hardware. As you know, things do and will go wrong during a gig; having access to the selectors on top via touchscreen -instead of the back-would really help. Even if the selectors were on top... that would be a big help.

Hello Lucas, The Xone:92 does not have a built-in sound card, so using the 92 alone it is not possible to set and run DVS. For this to work you would need an external interface such as the NI Audio 10. Regards, Luke

Did you use only the Recordbox Vinyls then? Or did have the Pinoneer Interface too?

Followed your steps to a T and still no luck. Using mk2 vinyls. Can route audio but controls is a no go.

For the Xone 96 If your running Traktor version 2.11.13 you need to update to Traktor version 2.11.3 happy days 🔊🔊

purchase the A6 or the classic Audio 8 interface from Native Instruments that will give your turntables DVS if your mixer doesn't have that feature

SpinnZinn, How to set up a DB4 and Traktor pro3 to record in Traktor using the DB4 as an external mixer ? It worked in Traktor pro 2 but it won't in Pro3. Or is it an issue with IOS Catalina ?

For the DB4 to fully operational on Catalina, please ensure that you have installed the latest driver (V3.49) from our website.
The legacy driver will need to be removed before commencing with the update. Please follow the release note to insure of a successful installation.

hii SpinnZinn...recently I'm thinking of buying xone 96.....I do not understand very well English... so your videos a little bit confusing me....my question is...if I use 2 controllers traktor x1 mk2 can I use xone 96 as a controller with all the effects and channels with 1 usb cables and without any soundcard and other cables????

The Xone:96 dual soundcards are Core-audio compliant on Mac OS. Simply hook up the mixer to the computer and it will be seen as an audio device.
This video demonstrates DVS, which is not regular vinyl. For further information on setting DVS up with Traktor, please check page 30 in the user guide.

I have a differnet issue. I can get a scratch inputing coming from decks 1-4, however i can only use channel 1 & 2 for scratch control.
I get a tone signal from 3 & 4 but when i switch to USB A, i get nithing.
The phone switches on the back are pressed in to route it to USB.
Anyone had this issue?

I bought a legit software from N.I and it was under £50 ;)
Specs for xone 96 say it's Traktor 2 compatible. What about Traktor 3? Will these mixers continue to work with the software through future updates?

A&H website says it works with the newest version! So if you have the existing version just upgrade for $50, if your jumping in with no existing version its $99 (traktor 3 software disc, 2 timecoded CD, 2 timecoded vinyl records) just click on the link they have where it says "traktor certified "!

Does any one know if you can use an old mk1 serato audio interface with traktor DVS. I’d like to use the separate DVS and analogue outputs of the audio interface to route to 4 individual inputs on xone 96 mixer so I don’t have to fiddle about at the back to press the USB line/ PHONO select switch, mid set, when jumping between DVS and analog vinyl. With the Xone:96, there is no need for any additional interface to run with Traktor pro. This software will run DVS straight out the box with the 96. You will, however, need some Traktor timecode Vinyls or CDs. But other than that, you’re all good!
Switching between playing regular vinyl and DVS is achieved simply by switching input selector between USB and Phono. These switches are located on the top panel channels strips for ease of access. The switches you are referring to on the rear of the mixer assigns either the line or phono connector to the USB sends. This routing is intended for DVS signal either coming from Timecode line level (CD) or phono (vinyl).

Hi and thanks for the awesome video. I've followed all the steps but all I'm getting is the timecode signal noise. Have the asio driver selected can see everything working in the input out put section . Have the back switch set to phono as I'm using 2x technics . And have phono selected on the channel input selector . Any help would be mega . I've midi out to active studio monitors

For DVS you need to set the channel input select to USB. As this is where the playback signal is coming from.
Only set to Phono, when you want to play regular vinyl (that’s how come you currently hear the timecode signal).

In this video, the instruction is to set the USB routing to to Phono (PH). This is because the DVS is demonstrated here with a turntable. If using Media players, these are line level devices, which should be terminated to the line socket of the channel input. Therefore, the USB routing switch must be set to Line (LN).

I have line inputs in line(the phono come plugged). I have the selector set to usb1, ( I have tried several combinations still nothing) but I will go home tonight and go through the steps again.)
Ok went through all the steps line in connected properly, white button depressed which selects line.up top just above the gain I have line selected on channels 2 and 3. In tractor I have xone 96 selected I have output deck A set to:
L 3: ch 2L
R 4: ch 2R
deck B set to:
L 5: ch 3L
R 6: ch 3R
Input routing
DeckA
L mono 3: ch 2 L
R 4: ch 2 R
Deck B
L mono 5: ch 3L
R 6: ch 3R
Nothing happening while playing a track on each deck A and deck B
Time code set up shows nothing I have scratch control selected on both and all I get is calculating
So as you can see that this is quite extensive process to get these two to communicate I would love to see a video any video really of traktor software being ran on a Denon sc6000

Hi! Ive got a xone db2 + 2 turntables setup. I want to record my mixes using MacBook but whatever I try (basically reinstalling driver again and again) it doesn't work.. If I open traktor before connecting mixer it says 'Allen heath xone db2 (not connected)' so it looks like Mac at least notice I plug it in. But it doesn't show in sound preferences in OS. Can someone please help as I'm getting really desperate! Or if there's another cost effective way of recording my mixes without a Mac?

@@oscarmiertorras6127 no unfortunately not. AH never came up with a new driver for recent macOS’s. I’ve replaced/upgraded from db2 now, but only way I found was to buy a recorder, and connect it to the mixer.
Can you guys please make a video on accessing the cross fader? Mojaxx from DJcity mentioned you can by the front panel, but the headphone connection is mounted on there...I need to make the fader cut a little sharper rather than the way it came (stock). My vestax pmc05 has an innofader in it that I installed and calibrated. I want to calibrate my Xone96, but I'm scared that I might damage something when doing so, this is why I'm asking for help! M TEC, at this time the only way to use the SC5000 prime with Traktor is via timecode. You will need to consult Native Instruments on where you can download the timecode file.

It is possible to use DVS with the DB4. There is no need for an additional third-party interface.
If you set the DB4 USB sends (from the mixer) to 'Analogue in' in the mixer setup menu. This will pass the DVS signal from the mixer's input connectors to the computer via USB.
It should be noted; channels 1&4 are line level only, whereas channels 2&3 are switchable to line or phono. If you are using timecode vinyl, then you need to use the later configured to phono.

The short answer is yes!
You need to have the socket input active for PH or LN depending on whether you are using time-code CD or Vinyl, then make sure that the channel send to the soundcard is set to CH. Finally have the SC switched in for audio return.

So I connected two turntables to inputs 3-4 and 5-6 switched the FX/Ch switch to CH on respective channels , then switched inputs on traktor on deck A and B to 3-4 and 5-6 respectively, then outputs the same way . Then after calibration I switched the mixer channel SC For audio out ??? Hope i did it the right way as you said . And I notice that the pitch fader 🎚 on my plx 1000 does not control movement of pitch fader in the software though I can hear the change in pitch . Any ideas for that ? Today is the first time I’m setting my new turntables ,! Cheers ✌️

The pitch control in the software is solely for mixing in the box (not DVS). From the sounds of it your setup is working just fine

@@xonedjofficial Thanks for the reply. I am currently seeing that the deck in Traktor is stuck on "Calibrating" and never goes beyond that. The inputs and outputs look correct per the video, but it's not playing music due to the "Calibrating" state. I just see an orange "Calibrating" message above the deck, it disappears, then reappears after some time. Maybe my control vinyl is bad?
If anyone here is reading this, experiencing the same thing I did - the solution for me was to ensure that you're using NI Traktor specific timecode vinyl. It _will not_ work with any other brand of timecode vinyl. This is annoying, but workable.

I am sorry, but this setup seems a bit too complicated. Wish the mixer had a digital touch screen to do all this routing.
All of the routing is done inside of Traktor's software settings, what would you need the touch screen on the mixer for?
SpinnZinn 1:13, 1:25, 1:36, 2:43... the selectors should be virtual not hardware. As you know, things do and will go wrong during a gig; having access to the selectors on top via touchscreen -instead of the back-would really help. Even if the selectors were on top... that would be a big help.

Even if there would be a problem with the software you can still play music since the mixer is still a standalone mixer. Touch screen? Get out of hear noob!

The Xone:92 does not have a built-in sound card, so using the 92 alone it is not possible to set and run DVS. For this to work you would need an external interface such as the NI Audio 10.
