You should, I only got this reel because it was super cheap. It was 28USD on sale and reputable BFS channels were saying it was great value when it went on sale for 38 in the past. There are plenty of budget options
looks like alot of fun with the plastics i wouldnt be any good with the baitcaster though but man nice couple fights for sure looks made fun on that light gear. Rip the birdnest hahah
Thanks, you know exactly where that spot is I assume? I usually get small Trevs and salmon on the other side of the bank on that bend that heads to the lagoon
@@yep.fishing i haven't really fished anywhere other than off the breakwqll but might have a drive down and sus it out sometime I've actually never caught a trevally so might try it one day crazy how many spots there are to fish around here and the variety of fish
Hello, did you take out the excess grease on the spool bearings? I tested mine yesterday and had a hard time adjusting the spool to go, even with the shallow spool 3 grams were difficult, but I was on tight spots and couldn't side cast.
I just checked, Australian record is 96cm. Most people fish them off the beach. Anything over 50cm is pretty good. Rarely seen them over 70. 38 is my PB.
Well I don't go by breaking strain but use the more accurate measurement called Gou or PE. I use .06 or sometimes .08 Gou line which is equivalent to 12lb. If you use traditional 6lb it's probably close to 10lb. Of you use a line that is too thin on some reels the line can get caught between the spool and reel.
I'm not getting water splashing on my reel so I think it's fine. I have never even cleaned the reel after salt water fishing. But it isn't specifically designed for it so is it's getting splashed with water alot then no
Nice looking reel
Thanks 👍
Nice fishing 😀
Thanks 👍
Looks like your having lots of fun with your gear, i enjoy watching your videos and the music
Glad you enjoy it!
Absolutely gorgeous looking salmon!!! Cool setup!!! Excellent video Jacob 👍👍
Planning on a catch and cook this weekend off the beach :) hoping to improve my content all the time
Nice!
Thanks for watching mate, appreciate it
Nice battle with that bigger Salmon. Good setup and not a bad price at all. Well done!!!
I think I may have got it even cheaper at the time. I'm hoping to take that rod on the kayak to see if I can push its limits a bit further.
Good, honest fighters are Salmon...great fun on your ultralight tackle Jake. Where are you located? I'm in the Riverina.
That was Portland
I think I need to order one of those set ups they look super fun! Great video dude

Got to love salmon on light gear hey
Yea this was a nice catch. I would of been happy with some 25cm salmon and trevally so 38 was a pleasant surprise in this particular spot.

You should try and throw some lures on light gear and see how you go
That jighead looks pretty good on that plastic
Yea, maybe a little small for the plastic but I agree
Great vid mate, awesome to see another Aussie into BFS .
I have that rod , how do you like the cast x?
Best entry level budget reel available I think. It won't be my.main reel my any means but nothing wrong with it
Impressive salmon good size for the gear used, well done
Thanks, was unexpected. That spot usually only produces Salmon and Trevs 10 inches

This video I had stock bearings that I hadn't cleaned, completely stock at this point.
Nice catches man! How big those salmon get? They look really cool!

As a bfs angler it makes my heat sink when I see a backlash like that haha well in!
Yea I hit a tree branch. Usually I fish from the other side. Not really used to the trajectory of the cast with this setup yet.
Hey, what lb is your mainline ?

Hi, may I know what is the most light lure for Cast X to cast ?
Probably around 3g
this reel can use on Salt water?
