Who gives a flying F what the writers say. My group of (15-20) that's been playing together for the last 20 years has decided to go our own way. We'll create and design our armies, lore, and rule sets. We bought two 3D printers to make our own models. We don't need GW or Amazon. We don't need to play in the shops or tournaments. We'd rather play in our own homes like we've been doing for years. At least the beer is cold and the wokies won't be able to get past the dogs.

There is a very easy solution to bad games: don't buy the game when it comes out. Don't pre order. Wait for 3-6 months, see what happens. That gives you a good idea if the game is worth playing, bugs from release are fixed and if the game has hidden features activated (micro transactions, extra sign-in, censorship). You loose nothing and save money.

He should be fired, and it is one of the many things AH needs to do if they want to regain any trust with people like myself. IMO HD2 is screwed, but depending on how AH reacts moving forward, I may be willing to trust/forgive them as a games studio.

It's quite a conundrum. Franchise destroying Space Marine 2 guy deserves to be boycotted, and let his game crash and burn to prevent the guy from spewing more nonsense into the universe. On the other hand, it's not his work and toil to finish up the game, because a bunch of talented proffesionalists, animators, modelers and level designers worked on it, and it has nothing to do with this leech. Their hard work deserves to be rewarded and let them see the game being success, but approving projects of lunatics destroying the franchise will do no good on the long run.

For me the irony and inserting wokeness into 40k, is the idea that this sort of thing is even an issue one way or the other 35,000 years from now. Starship Troopers is actually a super woke movie, because not only are the Marines gender and race diverse, that diversity is never mentioned. It just “is”. Because so far in the future humanity has obviously gotten over all of this and no longer care what your gender or skin color is. Everyone is equal. I imagine its the same way in 40k. Gay or trans or “ethnic” characters are so numerous throughout the galaxy that bringing it up would just seem odd.
Yeah the whole point of 40k is that all of our petty political worries of current year are long forgotten, with the same mistakes having been made over and over again by different planets who just have no knowledge of what others had done before them. Some worlds are civilised democracies, others are fascistic theocracies. Some are jungle or desert Deathworlds with a few million souls; others have Hive Cities with billions of inhabitants in one city. The Imperium _does not care,_ as long as a planet provides tithes (in goods and troops) and fealty to the Emperor.
It is so far in the future that even what we now consider "races" have come and gone, and new ones have arisen in adaptation to new environments. As long as you are genetically human; that's all that they care about - what you look like or who you like to sleep with is largely irrelevant. Or rather, they care equally _little_ about all humans - there are trillions across the galaxy, so human life and suffering is cheap. The only thing that matters is that humanity as a whole triumphs against its enemies.
So to put [current year] politics into 40k story lines is just as stupid as putting a faction in that represents your local football team. 😅
I've already read the Wolverine script, it's woke. It doesn't have X23 in it, but you do play as Jean Grey who does replace Wolverine at the end, and she is teased as the leader of the X-Men. They also force Mystique and her "wife" down your throat for the entire game with that being the only real successful romance in the entire story.
Jean Grey looks like a man and the only attractive women are...you guessed it, the lesbians Mystique and her wife just like Spiderman 2. The only positive from the game is that, Jean Grey's gameplay actually does look fun and Wolverine's traversal is pretty cool.
Share this to as many people as you can. At least then they can make an informed purchase instead of getting the old bait and switch. ✌️
I'm an avid warhammer fan and if someone told me there was a transgender Drukhari, that wouldn't be far off from the actual reality given what those dark elves are into. I believe these things however can quickly turn into an issue if the character is purely made for that thing, rather than being written and have it be a genuine and realistic character rather than just a token.
There are actually a few dozen books about or that include gay or trans characters. There was a reddit thread a few years ago with a chart of all of them and it was a pretty large stack of books. The shit ain't new.

When all this started these people complaining about femstodes and shit thought it was a tweet that announced it. When in fact it was a leaked codex with a two page lore story. Then they went on about how GW never changes things like this and them saying "they always were there" was gaslighting, when that is GW playing a character because every time they change the lore they say that same excuse for why we never knew about it. That would genuinely be an Orky thing to do, though: the brutes (or thugs, or joggers, etc) use that chant as a magic spell, believing it makes them immune to all consequences. They obviously have no idea what the words mean, as they chant it while standing atop the corpses of black people they've killed, but they know it means the police don't touch them.

It would explain why she was never mentioned, being a counter to any Alpharius style shenanigans.

The excerpt from that book was absolutely awful. Talk about poor writing from the author, wow that was bad. Makes me glad I never read any of the W40k books.
His warhammer books are awful. But there are some much better authors and loads of older 40k novels from prewoke times that are really excellent. The audiobooks are really well done too (and you can find them pretty easy free online). Try listening to Soul Hunter 😈
