That's what the english language as a native-tongue does for you me thinks. It is just much easier than having another native tongue. If he was a native Russian speaker with no knowldege of any english, that could be much harder. Sadly some people get a lot of privilege only by their mother tongue compared to others who donot have the blessing of having "the right" language. I am not saying that all English speakers are bad, i use it as well to get around in the foreign country that i live in, but it is important, that there is no discrimiation due lack of communication skills between the languages. Tommy, may not have had time to do his research. The name Levy is common in jamaica. It stems from the Spanish and portguese Jews, who have been in jamaica for centuries. Similarly Chinese, East indians and Syrian/Lebanese names can be seen on various businesses throughout jamaica.
This how U treat ppl a true celebration 🍾🎉🎊🎈🍾of life celebrate tht person THTS the best way too honor the dead they can pass over then . Very kind ppl.
This my friends is how you celebrate a life, it is not supposed to be a sad occasion. You should share good memories of the person who has passed and share joy in the fact that they have moved on to the next part of their experience, no matter what you personally believe that is. Have a drink, have a laugh and sure even a tear if that is your thing.
grief comes as a natural human emotion to death, seeing as you won't be able to see the person for a long time, until you pass yourself. But yes, I do agree that people should celebrate the life of the person- because as humans, we survive on happiness.
This is the grave digging, not the funeral. The funeral, which will take place in a church, will be quite somber...and you will have people crying and expressing the natural emotion of grief. Following the church, people will then go to the gravesite for the burial, and then back to the deceased home where the family will provide refreshment. Leading up to the funeral, friends and family will visit the deceased home in the evenings/at night (for about a week) where they'll play dominoes and socialize. That's known as the wake, and it's a period of respect and providing comfort and company for the deceased family. I know this because I grew up in Jamaica. Funerals there are not just about partying. There are designated moments for appropriate conduct.
That's not true. That is ungodly and against the bible. Its either you do things the biblical way and prophetic way or not. Its from a place of selfishness to have a party and play music and 'celebrate' someone's death in this manner. For millions of years it has been one way, and the last 15 seconds Jamicanics changed it, and you think its right? Your are not even deep down convinced its the right thing to do yourself.
The moment I watch you, after getting tipsy and high and still filming ur blog, I subscribed ur channel.... thats raw and pure .. great bro...👍this is the first video that I've watched... And respect to funeral of Jamaica...

That's so great may his soul rested in loving peace ❤
Watching this made me realize we're doing funerals all wrong in the US... I agree with Sabbatical, this is how I want my funeral to be too.
We celebrate life in Jamaica - births, in between, and deaths. We are placed on this earth as a gift, so be grateful, and give thanks.
We Jamaicans Spice up Everything. That's why we so happy
@@wassup9769 In spite of everything we Jamaican it’s cool runnings.one love!
Child even when we have something the cry about it's one whole vibes.🤣🤣🤣
Christian and poor religious beliefs
Tommy is not only entertaining us, he's educating us too.. I really like when he chips in all those facts..
Tommy, may not have had time to do his research. The name Levy is common in jamaica. It stems from the Spanish and portguese Jews, who have been in jamaica for centuries. Similarly Chinese, East indians and Syrian/Lebanese names can be seen on various businesses throughout jamaica.
Yah true
Much thanks from Tanzania well come again brooh
This how U treat ppl a true celebration 🍾🎉🎊🎈🍾of life celebrate tht person THTS the best way too honor the dead they can pass over then . Very kind ppl.
Not sure how I ever stumbled onto your content but I enjoy your videos.
Amen brother 🙏 you would want to experience an Irish funeral it can go on for days
@@margh737 well said
That's not true.
“That sound like a Mexican name” lmao
This video is dope! A funeral party! You were in there putting in the work too digging lol 👍🏽🔥
Thank you, Sabbatical. You have shown me a different part of Jamaica. I'd love to visit. Kind Regards, from Bougainville, Papua New Guinea 🙏
The moment I watch you, after getting tipsy and high and still filming ur blog, I subscribed ur channel.... thats raw and pure .. great bro...👍this is the first video that I've watched...
And respect to funeral of Jamaica...
This reminds me so much of Igbo land Nigeria. The funerals are big celebrations the young boys digging the grave and the people always get buried in the backyard of the house. Ancestral link!!!
I believe a lot Jamaicans have west African ancestral ties. If I’m not mistaken
@@kind2423 They are. In fact, many are Igbo. We have some Igbo words in Patois as well.
@goldbluetears Many Jamaicans are of Igbo descent. Along with Akan Igbos were the most popular ethnic group throughout colonialism.
in South Africa too!same thing
For sure!

Awe thank you for showing how my beautiful and cheerful country really is 🥰🇯🇲
I love this. Most places you go is so far off for America. Jamaica on the other hand is right here. I have known many Jamaicans. I already knew how great the people are. The Jamaicans I meet in USA all are warm, kind, and very caring too. What a beautiful country and people.
