If they all found out he offered and that he gave the chief some money, shouldn't they respect him enough to not be upset while asking for money? But at least he didn't get hurt. In some neighborhoods where I live, people do not warn you for anything. They go straight to beating. It seems Africans live in the ways which are more natural and human than the part of the west where I am from.
For all those claiming he’s being disrespectful, remember those villagers all came up to him. He was just sitting there drinking and recording himself till they approached him.

What you don't know is that, they were discussing his presence before they approached him. Villagers can be friendly, yes, but they are also cautious and have assessed visitors before engaging with them. Something happened in the course of the interactions for them to turn against Tommy and Josie.
It was so tense in that town. Do respect boundaries and ask permission to film them. Thank God the lady was not afraid but laughing and joking too much has its limits.

Uganda is among the top 5 countries in Africa with Alcohol problems, and is number 6 with Mental health issues in Africa. I humbly request you put these issues into consideration as you make your videos. More awareness is needed in Uganda in these two areas as so many people have passed due to alcoholism and so many suffer with mental health issues yet there's little to no awareness about these two problems. Let your videos be part of the solution please, plus put the confidentiality policies into consideration, ask for people's consent, or their leaders for permission before you record them. Uganda has suffered many problems, don't blame people for stopping you from recording. Otherwise it's good to show the world different parts of Africa.

Haven't you guys seen documentaries and movies about people scouting out African region looking for natural resources to swindle away from the people. As a person with African roots, i can tell you that Africans do not like being filmed or photographed while they are drinking. Carefull with that camera. Secondly, 'Unqombothi' is a popular local brew, there is even a song about it by the popular singer Yvonne Chaka Chaka...you can find it on UA-cam too.
If the chief says stop filming you stop filming. If the culture of the village views filming them as a sign of disrespect you respect where you are at...real simple
Number One priority is that even if you have locals as guides and know the language, always respect the chief/elder etc. when it comes to filming. Nobody is gonna eat you but they want some money - usually very little and this acts as a form of respect/subscription and ensures you have protection. The tales of cannibalism are much more ritualistic than norm.

The tales of cannibalism are much more ritualistic than norm.

as a first world city or suburbia with government rules and protection. they do own it and they can easily kill you if they wanted to and make you disappear forever
@@imizlefarari5294 That doesn’t mean the rules or morally correct or appropriate. Like who kills someone for recording and who go’s and defends them in the comments?
@@orangy8549 why does the us have laws that protect people for trafficking, they could just as well think “who kills people for walking on your property” like and maybe they weren’t actually going to kill them, who knows ?but rules are rules if you don’t agree with certain rules and morality then stay in your own home and don’t go venturing out to different societies?

They acted kind of ridiculous and very rude. Good for people to see this stuff before they waste there hard earned money getting bumrushed by some 3rd world medieval thugs.
It's the first time I've watched your videos ,and I enjoy enjoyed them so much. I come from Uganda. Currently reside in the UK. I was sooooo intrigued when I had you speaking in Luganda😳 Wow You speak better Luganda than some people I've met from Uganda. Keep up the good work you're doing. You're very very kind and very kind hearted 💞

That girl has probably been through so much in her life that most can only imagine. So she isn't phased like most others would be in those situations.
What are you, all knowing?
