No... No they shouldn't have. Honestly I was watching in real time, they were very average as a team, a very poor knock off the Road Warriors and not over in the slightest either as faces or heels. This is blind short sighted post era nostalgia by yourself. Harts, Rockers were far more over and guaranteed money on the house show circuit back in 88 89. Then you had the Brain Busters come along etc. The PoP were by most metrics were giant flops. They were there simply to make the Demos look good and that's what they did. The matches stunk though, including the NWA days big hoss tag teams Vs big hoss tag teams didn't draw, PoP vs the Road Warriors did very disappointing business.
@andrewbarbarash3116 You wrote a book (which I read less than half of it)! 😆 I have my opinion and expressed it. I watched in real time too, moron! I gave my opinion and yours is irrelevant. Nice try though.
I do think the Islanders and Rockers should have had the tag belts.@@andrewbarbarash3116 Edit: The Rockers being squashed by the Twin Towers was an utter disservice.
This guy and sid were the two scariest looking humans I had ever seen as a kid. The fact he is so nice and humble isnt hard to believe. Most legitimate hard, tough guys I've ever known were very gentle. Long fuse. Big charge. Especially polynesians.
Damn, I didn't find out about the Powers of Pain until way late. When I actually played the WWE games like over 15 years ago, I used to create old school wrestlers. I would have loved to create Barbarian.
What a cool way to look at it. Some folks love it for the little bit of royalties from the toys .....but as a collector, to see a wrestler look at it in those terms.....very cool.
It is a real shame they cut down on the percentage for royalties. If the companies would be decent about it, it would really be beneficial for retired wrestlers to have a decent pay off.
I remember watching Warlord wrestle some jobber and Warlord had the guy by his head and was twisting it. Looking at the size of Warlord's arms and this guy's head is when I realized he could have literally ripped the guys head off if he wanted to.
He and just 2 or 3 others are the only LJN figures I never had back in the day . That last line was super difficult to find in stores ,at least in my area . I still have somehow managed to keep all those figures over the years ! But I wondered why they made Warlord and not Barbarian , and Ax but no Smash ?
Vince is angry at Smash because he tried to sue WWE to get the Rights To Demolition but he lost. Vince can hold A grudge, by not making A Smash Action Figure Vince don't have to pay him Royaltys.
They make pennies on the dollar these days but they charge way too much for the figures. Give them a better percentage or or lower the prices to sell more figures.
Great to see Warlord. Powers of Pain were a huge part of my first ever WWF show, Survivor Series 1989, on Million $ Man’s team, and were made to look like absolutely unstoppable monsters! They took out Demolition, beat the s hit out of Jake the Snake and even Hulk Hogan until they were disqualified ha ha! Even as a young kid l didn’t understand why they never did much after that… and if you watch back his matches with Davey Boy Smith at WrestleMania VI and later in 1991, they are an absolute clash of titans, with real wow factor.
I still have a ton of cards from 91 to 93. Classic 1991 series. Gold 92/92 wrestlemania & summerslam cards.. also the 92 Slam Jam record with folding poster..
@@AGxAG I still have a year and a half of WWF mags from 91 to 93.. They still have the order forms for the foam belts and foam L.O.D. Spikes. lol.. I wish I kept more of my old things as well. I'm happy to have those cards and other bits though.
Jus the fact that he used the words... through my figures I'll live forever! That's why I'm a collector!! Mattel dropping the ball on the powers of pain set smh
Ill never forget the night in MSG circa 1991. I was outside waiting to hail a yelliw cab after the matches and seeing warlord in a sweat suit waiting to get one as well. I was 15. I won the tickets in a ny daily news mail away sweepstakes. I was just in awe and afraid to even talk to him lol. Cool moment
I remember on the last run of the 2nd gen wrestlers toys the warlord was really easy to get i had too and made it into a tag team called the warlords lol
I loved the Warlord as a kid! I was always wondering why he didn't get a push, or got the strap. I saw him VS Hogan at a house show and it was amazing!
I wish the Powers of Pain had a longer run in the WWF. After the Legion of Doom experiment went under they should have brought the Powers back in the facepaint, especially when tag team wrestling back then was not that hot.
Really waiting for a while to finally see powers of pain figures being made in the hasbro style good to see epic toys (chella toys) make the tag team it see odd that very little figures got made of the barbarian but the warlord did
They do, check out the "Big Rubber Guys" line at major pod merch. They just did pre orders for Demolition, Andre, and Savage. British Bulldogs will be the next ones up for pre order in the next few weeks.
Yo. Warlord I got you as a wrestler in the WWE 2k23 game. An exact warlord down to the t. With the barbarian in the powers of pain as a tag team on 2k23 also.
The Warlord is cool, but that price is ridiculous! Hey, good for him if people can afford to buy it, but around 80% of Americans are living paycheck to paycheck! 25K-30K repos are happening every day with vehicles and most Americans are using credit cards to pay for everything. People are BROKE! Don't get me started on the job losses every day. The 5 major banks in the USSA, people are not even getting their paychecks. What the HELL?!? When are people going to WAKE UP!
Not at all. Ranked 97 out of 100 tag teams by PWI. Meltzer gave them his worst tag team award once. Not that I think that’s true. I liked Powers of Pain but only a minuscule number of us remember them - of course only a tiny fraction of the population remember or think of any wrestlers from that era. Soon enough we’ll all die and then that will be that. Think of all those revered snd remembered tag teams from the 50’s! Oh wait… there aren’t any remembered - outside a few wrestling historisnbn nuts. Lol. Such is life. The Fabulous Kangaroos will live forever!!!!!! 😂
@@charlesmitchell8982 lol. The reality is only scary to those who were delusional to begin with. We are mortal beings and in the end nothing we do here will truly last.
Really cool when he said no matter what happens to him in this world he'll live forever through his action figures.
And through Daily Motion & You Tube.
yep, this guy has a really good mindset, i like him
His loyalty to the Barbarian is honestly beautiful
Powers of Pain should have been WWF World Tag Team Champions.

Warlord is such a polite and humble man.
This guy and sid were the two scariest looking humans I had ever seen as a kid. The fact he is so nice and humble isnt hard to believe. Most legitimate hard, tough guys I've ever known were very gentle. Long fuse. Big charge. Especially polynesians.
That’s why Warlord and the Barbarian were fantastic as a tag team.
I've found that with wrestlers. Many of the career heels were actually very nice, friendly people. The faces however . . . . . .
I love Warlord's attitude. He seems like a cool dude. Thanks for the interview James. You always do a good job!
I say he should still have that Royal Rumble record
I have the most recent Warlord figure from Mattel. It's really cool. Hoping they make a Barbarian to complete the Powers of Pain.
Warlord seems like a cool dude. Respect for him remembering all his toys over the years. Hasbro rules!
Hell yeah, that brings me back to the warlord versus British bulldog with my blue WWF ring good times
Warlord looks younger than most active wrestlers. Glad to see he's in such good shape!
Would be good if they put Warlord and Barbarian in the WWE games
Damn, I didn't find out about the Powers of Pain until way late. When I actually played the WWE games like over 15 years ago, I used to create old school wrestlers. I would have loved to create Barbarian.
I'll say, Warlord had one of the coolest figures out there, I had one when I was a kid, I'd always have him and Hercules as my main villians.
What a cool way to look at it. Some folks love it for the little bit of royalties from the toys .....but as a collector, to see a wrestler look at it in those terms.....very cool.
I remember watching him & Davey Boy doing triceps together at Big Daddy’s Powerhouse Gym in Garden City Michigan in 92(?). Just a massive dude.
A Warlord out now would be a Main Eventer
It is a real shame they cut down on the percentage for royalties. If the companies would be decent about it, it would really be beneficial for retired wrestlers to have a decent pay off.
Warlord should be held with the highest regard, A real living legend who have seen it all and done it all
Ive got the full hasbro collection still 😂 the warlord one looks badass
I remember watching Warlord wrestle some jobber and Warlord had the guy by his head and was twisting it. Looking at the size of Warlord's arms and this guy's head is when I realized he could have literally ripped the guys head off if he wanted to.
I bought the Warlord figure from a magazine along with Rude, and Haku, I sold the Sgt Slaughter in 2017 for 325, now it goes for 700, I loved the LJNs
I have the Classic Superstars MOC signed by Barbarian and Warlord. It was a wonderful gift a friend got me.
What a great guy, We love you and Barbarian, under appreciated
I have a life size Warlord blow up doll and I love it!
I never could get Haku or Warlord to complete my LJN collection.
Had that game on the Amiga, loved the warlord . Currently looking at investing in his Mattel figure ,it's awesome
I’ll never forget the first time I seen warlord for the first time. I was a huge road warriors fan but he made both animal and hawk look small!
This man is very well-spoken. He was excellent in Dark Side of the Ring. More Warloard!!
Man getting a Master of the WWE Universes figure of him and the Barbarian would of been epic!!!
Who knew the fucking warlord was a sentimental down-to-earth guy. Lol
Damn that is such a cool figure in the thumbnail

So true. I had everyone from the first couple of series. That last series (the black card series) was hard for me to find in Brooklyn as well
I love that sentiment.
Remember his feud with the bulldog seems a nice guy
They make pennies on the dollar these days but they charge way too much for the figures. Give them a better percentage or or lower the prices to sell more figures.
I saw him and Barbarian live as a kid in the 80s and early 90s. Powers of Pain were BEAST.
I preferred the Barbarian. But you had to like this guy. I like him more after hearing him talk.
Nice. Get that paper my man.
The Powers of Pain were an excellent team to compete with The Legion of Doom or The Road Warriors which ever you prefer.

He's still getting action figures, even from Mattel lol
I find his true character to be similar to Mark Calloway, The Undertaker. Great interview!
How do we get the epic toys figures of you and barbarian??
PoP massively mis/ under used

Man warlord reminds me a little of Braun strowman and Gene snitsky lol😅
He was also on Hasbro version too
Yep, and Barbarian got screwed twice.
He has the right outlook, He will live on forever, But I bet he wishes he had a box of those $3700 action figures laying around,,,
Sold my loose, Warlord LJN recently for $400.
He seems like a very nice guy
Do you guys ever tour West Virginia? More importantly, Huntington West Virginia?
Really waiting for a while to finally see powers of pain figures being made in the hasbro style good to see epic toys (chella toys) make the tag team it see odd that very little figures got made of the barbarian but the warlord did
It's crazy to think how 1 he wasn't a bigger star in WWF/WWE and 2 how he was forgotten far as video games
This guy was a scary looking individual. As I watched as a kid 👋
They should make a wrestling figure based on the LJN figures. It would be amazing
They do, check out the "Big Rubber Guys" line at major pod merch. They just did pre orders for Demolition, Andre, and Savage. British Bulldogs will be the next ones up for pre order in the next few weeks.
Only 8 Grand on his last mattel figure Plus inflation, thats chump change! They really should let the Superstars keep more revenue from their sales.
I don't know what it is, but something about how The Warlords face looks today, immediately makes me think of King Henry VIII... 😮
I still have that figure, wish my 10 year old self knew that some toys would be worth something later.
Sounds like a cool guy
My favorite wrestler of all time

Wow, an Amiga game in 1991.
always wanted barbarian ljn to go with warlord
Warlord still looks good
I hated the warlord when I was a kid 😂
We need Demolition and power of pain in wwe games
Anyone what game hes describing?
Back in those days, guys didn't make squat off their merch, unless you were like Hulk Hogan.
Not true. Greg "The Hammer" Valentine talked about his royalty checks and how good they were.
I have Lex Luger.
I was always a fan of his but I’m not paying $37.50 for one of his figures, never mind $3,750 lol 🙄.
everyone i knew had one ahaha

Warlord for wwe2k24 dlc.
Hmm what his Royalties 💵💲💲💲💲

greg gagne action figures??
