It is good at first to understand the steps but definitely research every part In depth because one mess up and the entire design process is messed up for good with no redos. Also, $60 to do all this is really misleading as hell lol. I can’t believe the tutorial tries to act like that’s all you need and you’re set. It’s enough for one tee shirt i guess
@@Gilbertify1 quit lying FOOL this is all you need, if not tell me what else i need. kidding but no seriously ima rookie and i was hoping this was all i needed aside from a heat press, your telling me i got to buy those 15,000 machines for screen printing or can i get away with using cheap stuff.
I agree. The majority of all screen printing videos are super complicated and overwhelming to follow and understand. This was the simplest easy to understand screen printing video.
When I was working at a screen printing shop back in the day, it was largely the same process, just geared toward bigger orders. So, the materials, and equipment were slightly different/more robust. We use sheet emulsion on the screens. We had an industrial arc lamp, and vacuum table to burn the screens. The basement was set up to prep screens for burning, and for reclaiming screens if we we're expecting more shirt orders from that job. We had single, two color, and four color stations, and later added an automatic press that was capable of 8 colors. Of course, there was a wall with all of the various inks we used. A Pantone guide was essential for mixing colors to client specifications. Amazing to think that practically anyone can do this, really.
I came here in hopes of finding a video that was simple + easy and the amount of detail you put into a 5 minute was more than I could ask for! Thank you!!!!!
I literally just started looking at screen printing today for designs we've had for a couple years. And I am so glad this was the first video I watched on how to stencil for sil screening. I was super overwhelmed in the 10 minutes before I found this. Thank you!
These blueprint episodes are so awesome for people who are taking their first steps into design. Always love seeing these, your brand is a big inspiration for me. Looking forward to more as always 🙂❤️
Thanks for this video. Bringing me back down to earth. I was marveled at these laser machines having a screen printing attachment. It's still cool, but that's... pricey. I could definitely jump into screen printing doing this first!
Than you. You gave me so much hope. Because I am home right now rehabilitating hopefully for my future I'm no longer able to do the work I previously done but I am ready to get started but I didn't know how to get started because I didn't have the money right now for any equipment or machines. I am ready to get started with my ideas. Thank you. Although ever so humble very much appreciated.
I've been wanting to learn how to screen print for the longest so I can start to learn how to make cloths and you don't know how much this video helped me thanks everyone at chinatown market 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Hi Tek Thank you so much for your video. I did my first screen this past weekend. I failed, I did my emulsion in the light. You helped me to try again next week. To do my emulsion in the dark. 👍👍
In high school we had an easy way using screen material, rubber cement, and the three colors red, yellow and blue. I thought silkscreening was for kids but many years after high school the people in the suite next to me were doing really super professional silk screens.
I’m actually starting like a little clothing brand (got inspiration from you and some other brands) with screen printing and this was like perfect timing thanks ChinaTown Market!
how can this video so short but very informative in a fun way. seriously I watched longer video and learned nothing with their so complicated explanation. I know I'm late for this due to so many options to print nowadays. but i think I can still give a shot to this old method of printing. Thanks
Thanks for explaining the process so clearly. The process to "burn" the screen is surprisingly similar to how that green color (called solder mask) is added on printed circuit boards.
great for first timers, but there was one thing that he could have done to ensure it to always be a better print.... when applying the emulsion it needed to be applied none ink side and then ink side and not scoop off access on the non ink side because that is where it needed to be thickest. Just an FYI.
I had to just say as I'm clicking off and have not seen this video But I love when people give back as this is valuable info listen young ones👌 Or don't...! Just kitten It's not every day I see actually I only come in here once in a while because word of the day integrity!😎
thanks for this tutorial but did i miss material shopping list with links? what type of emulsion? what type iof light in dark room are you using to prevent photosensitive emuslsion fior being reactive? where can i grab the scoop tray and what brand? thanks
Thanks for your excellent instruction. I keep getting asked to do T-shirts and the idea has always phased me till I watched this. Time to raid Amazon.👍🏻
I worked at the largest screen printing manufacturer in Ohio for a few years and our darkroom had dark red lights. Not sure if it was a certain kind or just any red would do, but it is def a lot better than pure black.
Very clear and nice video. but I have a question. What type of photoemulsion and what light source are you using? Type of light and how much wattage should it be? I would be very grateful if you could give me detailed information about this.
Hello, I love your videos. A question: Can screen printing be made using light burn with the thunder laser? If this is how they are done, could you make a video, since there is no information anywhere on how to do it.
This is a wonderful video! Can you link where you got all your products? Ive read there are different model numbers of screens and I want to make sure I use the same one. I want to get everything you had since it came out so great!
This is the simplest and best video on how to start screen printing I have ever saw. Dying to try this out.

Gotta be a easier process. Because if you gotta do this for every design. Lid what happens to the smiley face design,

Love this video!
extra tip! After printing, seal ur design by putting parchment over it and ironing on a low setting for 30 seconds

Thanks for explaining the process so clearly. The process to "burn" the screen is surprisingly similar to how that green color (called solder mask) is added on printed circuit boards.

That scraping sound gives me goosebumps.
Great success always uncle. Very inspired. HEALTHY greetings.

Thanks ! Super helpful! ?? Do you print without any paper between the front and back of T?
Your voice is so soothing, I'm almost falling asleep 😽
Was that a pressure washer you used to blow out the design or just a jet spray from a standard garden hose nozzle? Thanks for the great video!
Good, good video to start off with.
Nice orientation. Thank you.
Like it but is there a bulb model number you are using in the headlamp?
I love this so much. Chinatown market honestly one of my favorite brands. You guys are killing it!
loved this. what was the wattage of the flood light. i used a 500 watt for five minutes and got serious underexposure. thanks
Thanks for your easy simple video 🔥
Great video, thanks Tek 🎉
I used to do that. We had a darkroom, drying station. Exposure room.
Cool video, thank you!
Few questions: what's the blow dryer temperature? How bright is the lamp?
I needed this. It'll give me some motivation to finally setup my screen printing machine after a year :')
You are not alone my friend. Lol😂
Did you do it?
I’ve been looking into doing some screen printing :) thanks for the tutorial, friends ✌🏼
Excellent. Thank you for this video.
Any tips on what emulsion is best
Thanks for the video, How did you come up with 2 mins for exposure time?
That's such a sick design, I legit thought it was a Futura design when I first saw the clip on Instagram!

Thank you! You are the answer to my questions!
Do you have to put emulsion on each time for same design?
Easy peasy . . . 👏👏👏😁❤️
Sweet bro! Thanx for the vid! Way cheaper than I thought!
Is there a specific list there that used? I would like to get it to follow every step, such as writting on the transparent screen
thanks for this tutorial but did i miss material shopping list with links? what type of emulsion? what type iof light in dark room are you using to prevent photosensitive emuslsion fior being reactive? where can i grab the scoop tray and what brand? thanks
You give off really sincere vibes bro. 👍🏼
Brilliant thank you so much
Does it matter which type emulsion? There are several types on Amazon.
Do you have a video on how to use the vector image as a negative? Thanks
Did you find out which type emulsion is best?
is that some sort of special opaque sharpie marker? I didn't think regular sharpies were opaque enough.
Aye Tek!! Appreciate this video so much!! Thank you!!
Thanks for your excellent instruction. I keep getting asked to do T-shirts and the idea has always phased me till I watched this. Time to raid Amazon.👍🏻

Very nice😊My class used this to learn how to burn a screen and they found this very helpful.Thank you
Very clear and nice video. but I have a question. What type of photoemulsion and what light source are you using? Type of light and how much wattage should it be? I would be very grateful if you could give me detailed information about this.

Is screening printing good on polyester?
Do you need different paint or different amount of time under the light?
how did you dry and for how long did you dry the emulsion with the blow-dryer??
This is too official! Soooo many ideas!!
Awesome video man. Very easy to follow and informative. Thanks... Also wild cuz my name is Tek too!!! Whaaaaatt?!?!?!?
awesome! is the screen able to be used again? how do you get the emulsion off to do a new design?
+1 I have the same question too.
